This is a prime example of how great "garage punk" doesn't have to be all squealing, posturing, and tuneless thrash. These guys flat out rock with a capital R. This is straight up punk rock with lots of American rock influence. Sure they like the Sonics, but that ain't all they like: MC5, Johnny Thunders, Saints, Ramones, plenty of hard rockin' bands. But remember that these Swedes have been rockin' since the early 80's and became a huge influence on modern garage kings, the Mono Men. Tons of melody, no shortage of attitude, and a thorough grasp of those that came before them (these guys do more covers than any sane band should) make em one helluva band. And while most bands would have become mostly irrelevant at this stage in the game, the Nomads come through with this amazing album, proving that they are FAR from dead.
