4.0 out of 5 stars Big Stone Gap
It was a very down to earth, homespun type story, but also a coming of age story for the main character who was struggling with some serious issues in her life. Although not action packed, it was still very entertaining and uplifting. I really cared to find out what was going to happen each day as i listened on the way to and from work... 1.0 out of 5 stars Get this woman into speech class!
This is easily one of the worst books I've ever ever EVER read or listened to, and I go through about 10 books per month. Aside from the fact that Adriana Trigiani, who reads the book in the audio version, has a really, really bad lisp that makes it so you have to strain to figure out just what the heck she's even saying, the story is terrible. I love Adriani Trigiani, she writes so well. Listening on CD's when you are driving on a long trip, or even back and forth to work is a great way to travel. This book is very enjoyable. I recommend!

The characters are one-dimensional, and by the end of the book, I absolutely hated the main character. I have no idea how this kind of stuff gets published, and how on earth this author has a following. She's nearly as bad as Karen Kingsbury, which is maybe the meanest thing I've ever said.
