Perhaps it's time your favorite wrestling fan give his little brother a rest and squared off against this inflatable 4-foot-tall opponent who can take almost limitless punishment. Not that he won't complain: the Bop Buddy has a range of (rather unrealistic) grunting and clanging sounds, powered by a motion detector and three included button-cell batteries. Fill him with air on top and sand on the bottom to enjoy to the full his capacity for endless rebound. Best of all: he won't go running to Mom even if he's punched, wrestled, and body-slammed all day. --Richard Farr

He just loves to play and punch this sockem boppem guy and I think that is because he talks when you hit him.

I bought this Sock'em Bop Buddy from Toys R Us for my 4 year old daughter as she seemed to need a safe place to channel some aggression. You can weight the bottom down with either sand or water from your kitchen sink. There were two chambers to blow up and it wasn't that difficult as long as you have good lungs. The best thing about this toy (unlike the old clown ones of the past) is that he calls out to you with each hit (he's motion activated). He says things like, "Is that the best you can do", or "Ouch, that's going to leave a mark". It was hilarious. Unfortunately though, he sprang an air leak after about 5 days (and he was sitting in my carpeted family room) and had to be blown up twice a day to keep his shape. After a day or two of that, he was beyond help. The patch that came with him was dried up and unusable, so back to the store he went. My daughter did love it though.

I got this for my 6 year old. It was a HUGE hit with him and all his friends (both girls and boys) because it talks back. But, like another reviewer, it only lasted a week and then got a small hole. It wasn't experiencing any more rough treatment than it's made for so that's pretty pathetic. We've patched it but it's still leaking, so sadly Bop Buddy will be heading into the trash here pretty soon. It's a bummer they don't make this more durable.

Great for kids that can't get outside to run and play. They can punch, slam and kick it. Wonderful for kids with disabilities I wasn't too sure about this gift but it turned out to be a blessing that our kids loved!

I ask my grand daughter Mariah who is 6 1/2 years old, what she thought I should buy her brother for his birthday, Mariah replied 'a punching bag so he will quit punching me' and then she smiled and chuckled. I have an Adult size punching bag and I have shown Mariah how to punch it too.
We gave this to Brenden for his birthday, he is now 4, he loves it and now Mariah would like to have one in her room too!

My son, who's in daycare and often gets into squabbles, has learned to channel his punching and hitting towards this guy. He gets quite a workout everyday and is now less aggressive at school.

I bought this for my three year old nephew and while he enjoys punching and tackling it, it doesn't "talk" unless you hit it directly on the voice activation thing, which is on top of the head, and too high for my nephew to reach (and we did pull out the tab the instructions tell you to pull out to activate this). When he plays with it, an adult has to stand next to it and hit on the head for him to hear the funny voice. Kind of lame! In addition, when you weight the bottom with water or sand, it becomes EXTREMELY heavy, so an adult has to pull it out into the middle of the room when he wants to play with it. It wasn't a bad price, and he does enjoy it, but next time I'll go for one of the cheaper, non talking bop bag toys.

Cool Toy. I gave it to my 4 year old nephew. His 6 year old sister, 2 year old cousin and my two 9 and 10 year olds all played with it. Now my kids want one.

I bought this toy for my 9 year old son. He just loves to play and punch this sockem boppem guy and I think that is because he talks when you hit him. The toy jumps right back up and he isn't that easy to knock down. My son is not a small boy, by any means, he 57 inches tall and 100 lbs. and this toy takes whatever he dishes out. If you are going to buy a punchy bag this is the one to get.
