My three year old, who swims independently (the length of our 30' pool) loves this doll, and it is great entertainment for her, as she will chase it around the pool, pretending she is ariel or dora or mariana (the dora mermaid character). This is great for me, as dad (me) doesn't have to pretend to be dora, or ariel, or mariana.

Unfortunately, the packaged batteries kept Ariel swimming for about 3 weeks. She swam fast and good. We changed the batteries, and when I did, despite my best efforts, and regreasing the seal with a pool quality silicone, the seal didn't hold, and she was infiltrated with water. Now Ariel is no more. Do I buy another? Hmmm...

it breaks way way too much...you will get tired of fixing it as they are playing with it. for it to swim you have to hold the button down and its a tough button for an adult..it will hurt your finger after a bit lol. my daughter is 4 and doesnt care for it too much. and where do they get this price from?! i bought it at target for $[...]

Arms don't move from side of body and child got frustrated that the only thing on her body that moves was her tail.

Waste of money.
