This was an early book with a lot of appeal for climbers looking for descriptions of big alpine faces in Europe (and elsewhere); what challenges Messner faced on some of these faces, etc. I enjoyed it, but I'm a climber...

This book was one of his early books and not very noteworthy as a piece of literature. Purchase one of his newer books.
