There is always an arms race when it comes to new gadgets in and around college football.
It started years ago with luxury suites, extravagant club levels and a new synthetic playing turf that is softer than original Astro Turf and does not require the constant upkeep of natural grass. Next it was indoor practice facilities, which provided a dual purpose: providing a space to practice when the weather was bad and wowing recruits who visited campus.
