It has a hard outer shell that protects the PlayStation Vita very well. The Bigben Fabric Pouch won't stop a bullet or allow your handheld gaming system to be safely run over by a car, but I don't have to worry about my Vita getting crushed or dinged among the other items in my backpack. The elastic strap inside the lower lid holds the Vita firmly in place, maybe a little too firmly, where it sometimes slightly difficult to remove the Vita from the case. But it's only a minor gripe, since it's always better safe than sorry.
The case will also hold 3 Vita games, 2 Vita memory cards, and has a pouch inside the upper lid. I keep a set of earbuds, and the USB charging cable in there.
If you're looking for an inexpensive case that'll securely protect your PlayStation Vita, a few games, and a couple of accessories, the Bigben Fabric Pouch fits the bill quite nicely.
The case fits the PS Vita very snuggly, so much so that the power button on top can accidentally get pushed rather easily. This is a my only annoyance with the case so far but other than that it seems highly protective. I looked at other PS Vita cases and they were either too big, too flashy, and too smelly. This case is just right. If you're looking for something cheap that doesn't scream "HEY, I'M A PS VITA!" then get this case. I have no regrets.
