Biography

Cayucas: Pronounced "ky-yook-us", is the monikered homage to a sleepy little seaside town in San Luis Obispo County, California. That town, Cayucos, has hardly changed in the last 50 years, a far cry from the gentrified tourist traps parading showily down the nearby coastline. In the early 1960s, the surfing craze hit. There was one bar around which local kids congregated back then, ... Read more in Amazon's Cayucas Store

Bigfoot posesses flirty rhythmic sensibilities both snappy and sparkling, a rosy, near-tropical warmth, and a loose and conversational feel that position you right in the line of Yudin's wry gaze.

The songs on this album make me smile. It's perfect music for driving on a summer day with the convertible's top down. It feels kind of like a cross between Vampire Weekend and the Beach Boys. Love it!

A modern nod to sunshine pop. This band brings the Beach Boys and Jonathan Richman to mind. It's just good fun.

On a road trip to California. Would play the first track, second track, then skip back to the first track, second track, repeat. I'm 57, and man, this album makes me feel 17. In a good way.

if you like any Cayucas song, you will like the entire album. Very good, very complete album, which I play all the way through over and over again. Get it while it's sunny!

Catchy. Beachy. Summery goodness. Have it on repeat so I don't have to stop listening. Has a modern Beach Boys feel but fits right in withy Brit pop obsession.

I want this CD playing when I'm on my deathbed! I think they sound a lot like Vampire Weekend but with a more tropical sound. Yeah, beaches, palm trees, bright blue water and a corona in my hand playing Cayucas!

I love having CDs, but at only 9 songs, this album wasn't really worth it. The first five songs are wonderful, but the rest just don't do anything more than the first 5 did, and they start to sound the same. The good songs make up for the others because they are AMAZINGLY CATCHY, but I didn't get anything from buying the whole album.
