So, it seems the Bigfeet family are particular about who moves into their neighborhood - in this book they come across as suspicious, belligerent, don't mess with me redneck types, who, ultimately, prove to be likeable (somewhat). Seriously, this is a great, no nonsense, plain speaking, bit of writing. No sensationalism, just the facts as the authors experienced them; and from those experiences cogent thought about the world we live in and the veils of mystery that surround us. Turn off the tv and read this instead.

I have read many books about Bigfoot/Sasquatch and this one was very, very interesting and well-written. The book was co-authored by two men from different backgrounds who have had numerous experiences with the huge hairy hominid in entirely different parts of the US. Both have done extensive field work to try to solve the mystery surrounding Bigfoot and their notes are fascinating. Tom Burnette lives in North Carolina and has had a lot of activity on his land and in the nearby Pisgah National Park. Rob Riggs lives in Texas and has searched for this creature in the Big Thicket area of that state. They have come up with some theories about Bigfoot that might surprise veteran searchers but I admire their willingness to do that. It explains a lot about the elusiveness of this being and how they seem to just disappear when being hunted. I recommend this book. Keep an open mind!

Like most people who are interested in this topic, I am no expert; just a person who has studied up quite a bit on the subject. That being said, this book is one of the more unusual ones I have read.

Bigfooters often fall into one of two major camps. They either think it is a real flesh and blood terrestrial animal, or they think it is paranormal, or extraterestrial. However, these two authors sort of split the difference so to speak, essentially suggesting it is a real creature with almost magical, psychic, elusive powers.

The authors come across to me as authentic, in that I feel they believe what they are saying, and are being truthful about their experiences. However, some of the stories sound far fetched to put it mildly, and the sheer number of claimed direct and indirect encounters with the hairy ape man seem hard to fathom.

Also, I cannot say I buy into the theory that Bigfoots somehow manipulate energy fields to confound humans and evade capture.

Nonetheless, hard proof of Bigfoot's existence has yet to be produced, and the burden of proof is on believers to prove such a creature does exist rather than on skeptics to prove it does not.

My thinking is we should at least keep an open mind and give a fair hearing to what these two men have to say. But I can see how others might read this and not find it entirely credible.

In any case, I enjoyed reading this unique contribution to the genre.

The two authors give some excellent perspectives on their own experiences as well as those of other people. Some of the ideas they speculate on are in my view quite bizarre, but worth considering for anyone open minded. Overall though I enjoyed the book and recommend it to anyone interested in learning all they can about this enigma.

This page-turner Bigfoot book is well written and well edited in a journalistic style that is both pleasurable and practical while at the same time, colorful, engaging and heart stirring.

The frequent use of impressive, worldwide references on this subject insures these two co-authors, Burnette and Riggs have outstanding credibility in the Bigfoot reality they are so immersed in.

I'm a highly trained (now urbanized) scientist who was raised in a family of outdoors and wildlife preservation folks. Bigfoot, Yeti, the Abominable Snowman, Advanced Teleporting Yogis and the AmerIndian cultures have long been a part of our family tradition -- a tradition I've pretty much forgotten in the whirlwinds of typical science until this book pulled many of those mysterious pieces back together.

Will this Bigfoot book do something similar for you? I recommend you acquire and read this fascinating collection of Bigfoot encounters and investigations, visit the authors' pictorial website, and let the chips fall where they may. The reawakening in your mind could surprise you.

Best to you all and happy reading. Tom D.

If stories of Bigfoot leave you saying."give me a break!", you're not alone. I've been very skeptical. Until now. This book is a superb, balanced, "knock-your-socks-off" treatment of the big guy. As Tom puts it: "This story is far too bizarre to have been made up." There are intriguing first-hand accounts; some compelling evidence (related news story in Oct 9,2013 issue of Port Townsend, WA Leader: "Bigfoot study includes Olympic Peninsula Evidence"); and a careful,well-researched, yet entertaining, treatment of the paranormal. To me, it becomes a tale of consciousness itself -- what we see and what we potentially could see.
