I'm gonna need backup, January 14, 2005
This is a strong album by one of the top rappers of all time. LL was really at the top of his game here. His rhymes were fresh and often funny. And his deejay Cut Creator provided some excellent samples for him to rap to. The album included his first hit single, "I Need Love", which was also the first important rap ballad. Fans of old school rap should enjoy this album a lot.

My LL Cool J "Bigger and Deffer" Review, April 25, 2010
This is possibly one of my favorite albums of all time. I remeber hearing songs off this when I was like in third grade. Matter of fact I need love is what really got me hooked on Rap/Hip-Hop. I can pretty much listen to this album start to finish and not skip through a song. LL was a beast back then. Your talkin about a guy who used to murder cats in a battle. Some say Uncle L has fell off and maybe his subsequent albums have not been as good, but this album right here is the truth. I used to listen to this album every day in fourth and fifth grade and it inspired me to write lyrics of Cool J's in love letters to girls(too funny). This album will always hold a special fondness in my heart. Here is the breakdown of my ratings:
1. I'm Bad-5 Stars
2. Kanday-5 Stars
3. Get Down-4 Stars
4. The Bristol Hotel-5 Stars
5. My Rhyme Ain't Done-5 Stars
6. .357-Break It On Down-3 Stars
7. Go Cut Creator Go-3 Stars
8. The Breakthrough-4 Stars
9. I Need Love-5 Stars
10. Ahh, Let's Get Ill-5 Stars
11. The Do Wop-5 Stars
12. On the Ill Tip-1 Star
Usually Skits, Intros, Interludes, and Outros only get a one star rating (definitely if all there is talking). 5 Stars go on my favorites Playlist. It should also be stated that my ratings are based purely on how much I like the Songs. I don't take too much into the popularity of a Song. My ratings are not always a sign that I think a Song or Album are better than another.
