This review is from: Bigger Than the Sky: Disabled Women on Parenting (Paperback)
I am disabled and hoping to be a parent someday. Since there are few writings on this topic, I am reading everything I can find. I would encourage anyone who is interested to read this book, simply because it challenges some of the stereotypes about people who are disabled and the idea that they can't be excellent parents. Where there is a will, there is a way. The contributing authors to this book didn't hide the challenges they faced, many were no different than any able-bodied parent would have. These authors have inspired me. If anything it did reinforce for me that support systems are helpful for every parent. Maybe someday I will write my own story.
