really terrible blender - save your money; buy something else,

I was able to make a smoothie in this blender but then tried to use one of the included recipes ('turkey sausage'). The recipe instructed to 'pulse' the mixture in the blender {which has no pulse function}. I used the lower of the two settings, to bad results; the blender only mixed the ingredients at the very bottom, and got terribly clogged. The mechanism at the bottom doesn't come apart as in most blenders, and I haven't succeeded in really cleaning the mechanism as well as I think it needs, which now has meat particles in it that can't readily be cleaned out - I don't think I can use this blender now, especially for raw items like fruit smoothies (which I think are about all it is good for); I am throwing it out.

I had 2 of them...wanted to replace the 2nd of which I by accident broke the lid... but found out that there is no replacement parts available and they do not make them anymore. I was sorry to hear that...had them for years...replaced it with the ninja food processor.

Third time is not the charm,

I thought this little combination blender and chopper was just what I was looking for. Small enough not to clutter my small apartment kitchen, wasn't over-sized for just making single serving dishes, came with both blender and food processor attachments, and wasn't overly expensive at the time. But the food processor ended up being too small to use effectively and overpriced, because now I have to buy a new blender/food processor.I used my machine twice, on the third attempt it died after the first pulse. First use: I tried to make a batch of hummus. The food processor was too small to handle one can of garbanzo, let alone the rest of the ingredients; ended up having to split up the recipe, making it in two batches, and then having to mix it together in another bowl. The quality of the chopping and processing did not create a smooth texture, no matter how long I processed it. The machine also was very loud and we had to move our pets into the next room to keep them calm. I was not impressed or eager to try it again. Second use: Made a fresh strawberry smoothie using the blender. Didn't have any problems. Third attempt: Tried for another smoothie, this time using partially frozen fruit. Motor gave out immediately after I turned it on; after repeated tests it has not come back to life.
