5.0 out of 5 stars Uninformed readers write bad reviews.
I don't understand the negative reviews of this book. A lot of this information is NOT available in newspaper articles or "Sunset Magazine". It is gathered from years of experience in the HVAC service industry, helping customers save money on thier system maintenance and protect them from the many rip off contractors that pray on them. If the reviewers had a better...

1.0 out of 5 stars The Eighth Mistake is Buying this Pamphlet - a Bad Start
This is a sales pitch for Air Services Co in Calif. The pamphlet is printed on legal paper folded in half. The print is large with extra spacing to stretch it to 25 pages. Six of the 25 pages are letters of recommendation from former customers. The glossary takes up another 2-1/2 other pages and is so brief the it is hardly worth using. The primary subject material...

It is gathered from years of experience in the HVAC service industry, helping customers save money on thier system maintenance and protect them from the many rip off contractors that pray on them. If the reviewers had a better knowledge of the industry, then perhaps they would benefit from this book. It's not the type of paper or print that matters, but the content!

1.0 out of 5 stars a useless book, June 9, 2000

Don't waste your time. This book consists of the kind of things you would get from reading a newspaper column such as asking "is the contracter licensed?" and "can the contracter be reached in an emergency?" A better resource is guides such as those by Sunset or Time-Life

In my opinion- (Wolf in Sheep's Clothing)This is a sales pitch if I ever heard one. This is a book that promotes the writer as an authority. A very well planned marketing scheme. This book was written to sell HVAC stuff.

5.0 out of 5 stars The seven biggest mistakes people make when hiring a HVAC, November 1, 2001

This review is from: The Seven Biggest Mistakes People Make When Hiring A HVAC Contractor and How To Avoid Them (Paperback)
This book is filled with valuable information that saved me thousands of dollare on a recent HVAC installation I had done. I was able to filter out sub standard contractors with thier "low bids" and find the right company to do an excellent job. I read the reviews from the two previous people, and I don't know just what the problem with them is, but I do know how valuable this book was to me, and it gets the highest rating possible (if their was SIX stars, I would give it that!
