This book provides a good introduction to the desert bighorn and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep. It's written at a level appropriate for upper-grade elementary students, and it has a lot of pictures of bighorns. The information is basic but reasonably thorough for its audience. It recognizes challenges such as habitat loss ("People are taking over their land") and acknowledges both private groups and government actions to help bighorns.

This is an excellent resource book with lots of very good pictures and information about all species of Bighorn Sheep. We use it as a coffee table book because it starts many good conversations.
