Fun, Easy to Learn,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: The Bigs 2 (Video Game)
I was a bit skeptical of this game, I've been let down by baseball video games in the past. However, after spending a few innings learning the control scheme, this is by far my favorite baseball game. Certainly; it's worth mentioning that this is the only one where pitching is just as much fun as batting, so you don't have that "lets get the top of the inning over with" feeling.
I won't go too much into the details of the game-play. It's enough to say that it's definitely an arcade baseball game; though there's enough meat to satisfy hardcore baseball fans too. Well worth the purchase.

This game starts out a bit difficult to play due to the controls but gets better over time. I tried it for a few hours when I first got it and had to give up due to the difficult controls. Pitching is easy to get used to but the fielding takes awhile to understand and get good at. I recently picked the game back up and have figured out how to field and am playing any chance I get. It is an Arcade baseball game which works for me as all the overly realistic games I have played in the past were boring due to the game play. Worth getting for the basic game and have been working on the become a legend part of the game when time allows.

When I started to play the game it was hard. But after a couple hours of playing you can pick up on the controls pretty easily. After you know the controls the game is a little bit easier. Thay have different levels for when you get better and better. Legendary plays are harder to get and they have more legendary plays than the bigs 1.They even have a season maode on the bigs 2 which is the same as the 2009 mlb season. People of all ages would like this game. I would suggest buying this game to a friend.

Since I purchased the Wii game The Bigs2, my 2 grandchildren will not stop playing it. I have purchased them other baseball games but this one they love and would play it all day if they could.
So pleased with this one I am considering the other Bigs games for both football and basketball.... A Very Pleased Grandma

Great Pick-Up and Go Game for All,

This is a great, entertaining baseball game for those who care expert gamers and also for the challenged gamer. It's easy to learn with minimal practice time.
GRAPHICS Graphics are on par with the wii and leave nothing to be desired for what can be done on the system. GAMEPLAY Gameplay is simple and intuitive. Time doesn't need to be spent reading the manual for an hour on the technicalities of the game. In camparison to MLB series games, this has a much easier learning curve. The motion controls are fun and are used wisely. FUN This is the 1st baseball game that is as much fun to pitch as it is to bat. It's the best game when playing against other players. Faking out the AI with pitches isn't quite as rewarding nor fair (in my mind.) The arcade visuals and power-turbo modes are a lot of fun and keep things fast-paced and interesting.

Great Ball Game,

I'm having a lot of fun with this game and thats why it gets 4 stars. In reality it probably should be 3 stars but no matter the flaws you cant beat good gameplay. The home run pin ball is a lot of fun...those breaking balls can be really tricky! Legend mode offers a good mix of regular games, specific goals and the chance to upgrade your guy while stealing other players. Season mode seems a little too linear for me and for some reason I seem to be able trade anyone making too easy. I tend to pick this game up every 3-4 days and usually don't want to put it down..any longer though and the old wrists would be in trouble.
Pros: Great Gameplay Smooth mechanics for pitching Good background music Decent enough commentary & varied enough to keep it not to repetitive Strategy of using big slams, big heat to beat the opposition Legendary catches look cool Legend mode adds variety including going to other countries Controls are intuiative (but need practice) Players attributes simulate real players in the MLB Cons: Mini games can be annoying and irrelevant mechanics Some legend targets are difficult Graphics are a bit poor Fielding can be tricky at times

I'm not a huge gamer...not even. Maybe you need to be a full-time gamer to understand and remember all of the controlls. I spend too much time trying to figure what button to push that it destroys my reaction time. I do like the graphics and the ability to start your own player from scratch and work him on up through the leagues. I guess I just need to spend a couple of days figuring out how to use the controllers...or I could just play my "MLB Power Pros"! More my speed.

1. You only need the wiimote to play and swing it. It was awkward trying to swing and hold onto the nunchuk at the same time in the first Bigs game. I kept whipping myself with the wire.
2. Legend mode is all I play. It gives you challenges, classic uniforms, and also the chance to play against players from the 80s (which I like!!) 3. Bunting controls are not as they say in the control guide..in fact i've never even bunted yet! I do not know how. 4. For $10 now..this game is worth it. 5. Diving for a ball doesn't always seem to work waving the wiimote..maybe I'm doing it too late..I am also afraid to be agressive on the base paths. This will take some time to master I guess because you have to hit the - to switch control of the runners and that can be too much multitasking on a basehit with several runners running around. 6. Ever notice the computer seems to come alive in the last inning and beats you often? Seems like cheating but also challenging.
