Gorgeous jazz from different composers, executed magnificently by Sills et al. Sills sax is silky, golden, magnificently deft, transcendent, sexy. You might say a little reminiscent of Getz.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful By Dunbarton Oakes on November 6, 2006
Format: Audio CD
I was looking for recordings of bassist Darek Oles when I came across this CD. I'm not a great fan of sax-lead groups but chanced it. How Sills could be a vitual unknown is a mystery. His style reminds me of Pharoh Sanders best work (i.e., without the spacey bells & wistles). His sound is deep and resonating and the musical selection is tranquil without being remotely like smooth jazz. I ordered one of his other CDs immediately and found it just as rewarding. Naxos Jazz' low priced collection is well worth gambling on and Sills is a good example of why.
