This review is from: Bike Balance Dog Jogger Kit (Sports)
1. Safety First - Many other dog jogger attachments are stiff (they don't allow your dog to move from side to side) which may cause serious issues when a dog tries to run after a rabbit/squirrel/dog/leaf (?!) and runs right into your tire or, worse yet, you which can cause you to go off balance. However, this one allows the dog to move to/from either side - this may cause other issues as your dog can move out many feet from either side of the bike (careful around cars - my dog can stick her butt out away from the bike and will be at least 6 feet from me, I have since gotten her a very bright vest so cars see her as they see me). When my dog sees a rabbit she will move to the other side and pull, it takes a little getting used to - but it isn't too much of a pull with my GSD (bungee leash), but I would NOT use this with my road bike, the control would just not be there.

2. Construction/Assembly - I have had this product for several weeks, and although I was somewhat hesitant to how my dog would run with it, the design is great (and my dog got used to it quickly). It took a little while to put on the bike because the directions aren't extremely clear (and it took little manipulation since my seat post was so large - i just had to hammer it on and bend in the points that get bolted on). BUT, I have complete confidence that this will NOT fall off my bike or be ripped off (like others). Also, think about using some "lock-it" glue to ensure the bolts never get loose (I check each time for safety).

3. Mobility - I like that it can be pieced apart. It just makes it more convenient if my dog decides to potty on the trip. Instead of walking my bike around the grass, I can take it off quickly. Although, I do tend to bring a leash anyways. It is great that it (not the seat post bolt or small bars from either side of the tire) can be taken off when not in use, it looks a little bulky otherwise.

4. Price Wise - Compared to other products with seriously mixed reviews, I would put a lot more confidence in this over one that has EVER fallen/been ripped off another bike. Running my dog 2-4 miles is invaluable (I hate running and love biking).

5. Puppy Love - This isn't as much related to the product, just the benefits of running my dog. I am careful not to over exercise her - but I do like running her a couple of miles each morning. I enjoy different activities, but in addition to walking her and fetching with her, this is perfect. Some days I am at work from 7 am to 10 pm (yes, I am able to take her out once or twice during the day), but if I don't have enough time then a 20 minute ride will do just fine!

*** Remember never EVER run a dog under 1 year old (other than light fetching/playing), their bones aren't fully developed and it may cause issues later (ie ACL tears, weaker bones/muscles).

*** TRAIN your dog before assuming your dog will just get used to it. Walk with your bike, dog not attached (then attached) - use treats. Get on your bike and walk it slowly. Take the time to train your dog so it will be an enjoyable experience for everyone.

*** LISTEN to your dog - my dog nips once at my leg when she has to stop to potty or needs a break.

*** Don't push your dog beyonds its limits, one mile may be enough at first - 4 mph may be enough, don't force your dog to run too fast or too long. You may be able to do 5 miles, 20 miles or 100 miles - but your dog may be exhausted at 1, 2, 4. LIsten to your dog and be smart :)

*** Bring water for you AND your dog. Don't over water your large dog (beware of bloat). We just had a heat wave (over a week of 100 degree weather), and I did NOT run her during the day for more than a 1/2 mile (3x).

Happy riding/running!
