I am more of a recreational bicycle rider who occasionally stays at his biking destinations a little longer than he should to get home in daylight. I don't do a lot of night riding, but when I do I want to see and be seen. A full-time light is just not something I can justify investing in, so I went looking for a way to mount the LED lights I already own on my bike.

I looked at several flashlight mounts online before settling on the the Bright Medic Strap Style Bike Mount for LED Flashlights (henceforth "the mount"). As soon as I took it out of the box, it was obvious that whatever Bright Medic lacks in the snappy-product-naming department was more than compensated for by their ability to make a high-quality bicycle flashlight mount.

I installed the mount on the thickest part of the handlebar near the stem bracket of my 2012 Trek FX 7.3. The fit was snug and required only stretching the rubber strap around the bar and hooking it in place. This makes it easy to take with you when parking your bike in areas where thieves will take anything on your bike that isn't welded on and also makes bike-to-bike transfer a snap.

I have two flashlights that I put into the mount for testing purposes: a SureFire E1e Exective Elite and a 4Sevens Q MiNi X 123. Both lights use CR 123A lithium batteries so the barrels are small diameter; the Q MiNi diameter is .80 inches or 20.32mm. The mount held both lights securely. I may supplement the rectangular foam pad that the flashlight rests on with another one to make the fit a little tighter, but I might get away without adding anything at all. It would have been nice if Bright Medic included an extra adhesive-backed foam piece, but it's nothing you can't find at the hardware store.

A very well made mount, I originally purchased two of these to attach my walking cane to the side of my Rollator. Well, I only needed one, so I have the other leftover to use on my bike. The folks who make this provide excellent service as well. When I received the mounts, there was a letter inside, thanking me for my purchase, and describing the company. I will be doing more business with them, as it sounds like they have a really nice flashlight as well.

Excellent little flashlight mount for the money. Works perfectly for me and my bicycle. In my experience stuff like this, with silicone rubber bands, last about a year if left on the bike in the sunshine and weather. So I'll be happy if it makes it that long. I don't think it will be a problem.

It is good to see the maker respond in the comments to some of the negative reviews. That's why I chose to purchase from Bright Medic.

Pleasanlty suprised by this product. Well made and solidly holds flashlights of different siizes. Swivel feature allows accurate aiming of light. I like the rubber straps much better than the velcro found on other brands.

When I tighten the handlebar strap down such that the device does not pivot on the bar, the strap pops free from one end and the whole unit falls off.
The resolution of the horizontal detent adjustment is too wide, my handlebar mount location is not straight, and I can either see to the left or right, but not straight ahead.
It does not hold the light snug enough, the light slides under the straps and can fall out, tightening the straps another notch just pops loose. Good concept, but does not work well for me.

Product works as advertised. I have 2 on the front forks and after a 21 mile bike path ride they are still holding the same angles as when I started. Only when I go over major bumps do they need to be re-adjusted. Overall I recommend them.

I used it to clamp an air pump that I had lost the clip for to my bike and it actually works really well. The mount has a swivel that allows you to mount the light (or, in my case, air pump) either parallel or perpendicular to the bar you're mounting it on, which is handy.

I can see the rubber wearing out eventually; especially on the part with the larger holes (the part that attaches to the frame) as the actual mount loop is pretty thin. But at this price it's kind of a disposable item.

Can't beat it for the money. Works great with CREE XML T6 LED Flashlight. Easy to adjust and hold tight.
