More About the Author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bike Mania!, January 17, 2008
By
This review is from: The Bike Race Mystery (Nancy Drew Notebooks #59) (Paperback)
There's a bunch of cool prizes being given out for the winner of the bike race and bike rodeo in River Heights. It's being sponsored by Bike Mania, the shop in town.

It seems like everybody wants to win, but not everybody wants to play fair!

Some bad sport has stolen George's bike. Now, it looks like she'll not be able to compete. Even worse, George will lose a bet with a boy who really wants to win. But does he want to win badly enough to steal another contestant's chances?

With her wonderful blue notebook, Nancy Drew will start using her good powers of observation and logic to solve The Bike Race Mystery before you race to the last page!

Once again, Carolyn Keene combines the mysteries her readers expect to read with the backdrop of colorful activities that they love.
