I've never seen any drift trike up close and in person, but when I seen the videos I knew I had to have one. I based my purchase on the knowledge I have with cycling. As a rule of thumb, you get what you pay for. And I was hoping that would hold true especially after spending $550 for a drift trike.

Well, overall I am satisfied with my purchase. All the frame parts are aluminum and get this, the hardware is stainless steel. This thing should last a good long while. All the parts fit well and there was no problems with assembly. The hydraulic disc brake is awesome after about a 3 mile break in period. It's the main reason I chose the Syndicate over the other models. I chose to put a Planet Bike Protege 9.0 bike computer on it. I may switch to the wireless model as my riding experience increases.

Riding the trike: Pedaling is not like I remember as a kid.... lol It's pretty tiresome. You can pedal it up to about 13mph which is plenty enough speed to drift on flat ground. I took it down a pretty steep hill with faster speeds every time which tells me the bearings are breaking in. At 27mph and being a rookie at this, about all I did was hold on and enjoy the ride. After slowing to about 18mph, I felt comfortable drifting. A good 45 degree drift could be held for several yards. I would say 30 yards or so. The rear tires get better traction than I thought at high speeds. You really have to put some effort into it to drift. Drifting slows your speed which in turn requires more effort to keep it sideways, so its constantly changing.

Saving the worst for last: The paint and pedals are my major complaint. The red color is a few shades deeper than the stock photos show which isn't bad. In the sun it looks a bit brighter.
