  • Your dog will learn to use the Bike Tow Leash quickly and will enjoy the freedom to run at his own pace. If your dog wants to go faster than you can pedal, you can allow him to propel your bike. Instead of holding your dog back, let him take you for a ride.
  • Proven safe. The Bike Tow Leash's unique patented mast prevents the bike from tipping when the dog pulls, reduces any jolts and gently trains your dog to stay in heel position. The resilient mast will allow your dog to catch up when you turn away, notifies dogs of turns toward them and allows dogs to drop behind the bike to avoid obstacles.
  • Great for fun, exercise and exploration. The Bike Tow Leash will allow you to exercise your dog in less time while covering the same or even more distance! Imagine going more places with your dog as exercise partner and companion: trail rides, camping, the park and store. Remember the dog trainer mantra: "A tired dog is a good dog!"
  • The Bike Tow Leash installs and removes in about a minute without tools. Move it from bicycle to bicycle or simply clip it to the back of your seat out of the way when riding without your dog.
  • Made in the USA and patent pending.

Preston says it: The Best Thing Ever.

The engineering on this thing is nothing short of a miracle; Preston can get very distracted by dogs and squirrels, and he's very powerful, sometimes I can barely control him with both arms and all my weight. So I was scared that I could never risk biking with him or find myself in a faceplant with my bike in a heap. That's why I invested in this, the most expensive bike leash made.

Worth every penny and then some. This leash controls his pulling BETTER than I ever could! I could barely tell that he WAS pulling, especially when we were going at a good pace. He'd try to veer and be pulled right back.

The exercise for him is fantastic - the way it's made he can actually pull me, and I let him. And if I speeded up he was right there. (No worries, I was careful - we only went around the block a couple of times. He's not used to it and his FEET aren't used to it. Although when we came home he was sort of in a groove and did a couple of laps around the yard at the same pace we'd been going...)

It's fantastic. Every single claim is absolutely true, even the part about easy installation - bing bam boom.

Don't be afraid to make the investment, it's a marvel and your dogs will ADORE you.

UPDATE SEPTEMBER 15-

Just wanted to say that my dog and I are happier than ever with this. We spend much more time together, he's in fantastic shape, and it's easily one of the best products/things/objects I have ever owned, because it works beautifully at keeping us both safe and because it does, my dog and I are happier, we have more time together, it just elevates our lives, truly. If you really love your dog (and enjoy bicycling! It's my primary transportation...) don't hesitate.

I recently adopted two Husky rescues that came from pretty rough circumstances. With this breed, keeping them active and giving them purpose in life goes a long way to helping them get assimilated. A tired dog is a well-behaved dog, as many a trainer will tell you.

Biking with a leash in your hand is a risky proposition with any dog, and with a hyperactive semi-feral sled dog it's even moreso. I bought this device along with the cheaper "Let's Go" walker so I could give both a try. As other reviews have stated, you really can't even feel the slightest pull - the design (by a former aviation engineer) is incredibly resilient and works exactly as described. If you attach a proper harness, and your dog likes to pull (and mine do), you'll be coasting easy - while the Bike Tow Leash is resistant to jerking, steady pulling propels the bike forward, something the other spring and bungie-type bike leashes can't do, which is great for mushing training, if you combine your rides with a lot of verbal encouragement and commands - "gee", "haw", "kiyaa", "whoa", etc.

I really would like to pick a second one of these up, but as the review title states, the BTL is a LOT of cash, nearly 2-3 times as much as most bike leashes. So in keeping with the rating, I absolutely love the product, but I can't give it a full 5 stars based on value for money. Hopefully once these get some more reviews and positive feedback, the vendor will drop the price to around $100 or less, which seems about right.

I compared online reviews videos and literature of the Walky dog, the springer, and the sunlite dog bike attachments, along with the Bike Tow Leash and ended up choosing the Bike Tow Leash. I have a woman's bike with a low seat and therefore I didn't like the walky dog or the springer because they would not fit below my bike seat, and the shaft of the walky dog interfered with pedaling on some bike models. I liked the bike tow leash because it kept the dog away from the bike so that a herding breed would not be prone to try and bite/herd the back tire, as well as preventing the dog from swiveling from one side of the bike to another, unlike the sunlite, which might get a dog tangled in the spokes/tire/chain. Also, the ease of which the BTL (Bike Tow Leash) is attached to the bike is a real strong point for me because no tools were needed, and finger tightening was the only torsion needed to secure it. The fact that I could easily monitor my dog's condition because of her position next to the bike was the clincher.

I literally ripped the thing out of the box, slapped it on my bike, snapped the lead on my dog and jumped on the bike. My dog has never been led off a bike and we were whizzing around the neighborhood. I couldn't even feel it when she and a dog on the other side of the fence has a race/barking/jumping match. And I am not a very good biker, having not been on a bike in a decade. Yes, this was a foolhardy experiment.

The only downside is the price. My bike cost less than the BTL! You could buy almost 5 Walky Dogs (that Amazon price right now is amazing) for one BTL. I am considering getting a walkydog for my boyfriends bike because of this, since his seat is high enough to accommodate the walkydog

We originally purchased the Walky Dog leash but promptly returned it. The Walky Dog allowed our dog, Sophie, to essentially bump into the front tire of our bike almost causing an accident. This probably could have been rectified with more training for Sophie but the Walky Dog also required us to raise our seat to a height we were not comfortable with and so ultimately decided it was not the model for our family.

With much trepidation due to cost we decided to try the BTL. The BTL is AWESOME !!! The BTL did not require any adjustments to our bike and Sophie quickly adapted to using it without any problems. The BTL keeps Sophie where we want her without any stress on either Sophie or us. I was a little hesitant about how well the BTL would perform with an excited Sophie chasing after a bunny or squirrel but it has passed the test with flying colors. Neither human nor animal was injured in any way, shape or form.
