Great read-,

This book was such fun to read. It's a wonderful story about friendship and learning more about yourself. I just loved it. I generally read high crime, so if you don't typically read these types of books... then give this one a try. You won't be sorry. You wind up really liking these characters. I had a nice time getting to know them, the read is easy to follow. Makes you want to see what happens next. I was suprised, generally the only page turners I like are the high crime/suspense books. This one is well worth the read. I will be reading ALL of Sheila Roberts future books. Her book On Strike for Christmas is also a great read. Even though the holidays are over, it would still make a nice read anytime of year.

A fast, friendly, fun read! Perfect vacation book.,

I whipped through this book, thoroughly enjoyed it. It's light, fun reading, with characters that you root for (even when you want to shake sense into them.) I picked this up yesterday evening, and couldn't put it down. I'm on vacation and this is exactly the type of story I was looking for. And it even has recipes in the back.

Light-hearted, very fun read!!,

I absolutely LOVED this book and I hope that Ms. Roberts continues with a sequel. This is a "can't put it down" book, as well as, "I never want this book to end". Absolutely fun and very light-hearted!!

The feel-good read of the season,
This review is from: Bikini Season (Paperback)
This book proves what every woman knows - everything, even dieting, is easier (and even fun!) with your girlfriends. This story has everything but calories -- humor, romance, emotion and plenty of head-nodding moments. Not to be missed.

Seriously?,
By April Warren (Virginia) - See all my reviews

Female friendships can be so profound and multi demensional. In some cases, they are the longest lasting relationships in a woman's life. Sheila Roberts does not even begin to build story line or dialogue between these women. Other reviewers have mentioned superficial. I agree. These women could have been wise, brilliant, confident...everything to one another. But with the focus on chocolates and wedding dresses, all was lost in character development.
Want to read a wonderful story on female friendships? Try TALK BEFORE SLEEP by Elizabeth Berg. For lighter recommendations that still have substance and a wonderful story, may I suggest ANGRY HOUSEWIVES EATING BON BONS by Lorna Landvik or BETWEEN FRIENDS by Debbie Macomber. Seriously - don't buy this. The publisher must have been desperate for something to go to print....

Light and predictable,

Definitely a read for summer. It is about 4 women trying to lose weight for different purposes. It's light and the story goes smoothly. Recommend it if you have spare time. (There are also useful recipes at the end.)

This book is a story about 4 friends who turn a cooking club into a dieting club. The club is not necessarily to become super models but to better their lives. Finally Erin does realize she is engaged to be married to someone she doesn't really love. The book also has low calorie recipes at the end. A great, inspirational chic lit.

Clever, fun writing,

I would have given this 5 stars, except that the plot seemed to move so slowly, and I read 5 or 6 other books while I was trying to make it through this one. That said, the author really has a way with words, and it was fun reading. I just have a problem with sitting still & need something that will keep my attention all the time :) I do think it would make a cute movie, and like others said, I'd like to see another book, featuring Megan.

Good easy read,

While it was somewhat predictable, it was an enjoyable read. Would like a sequel on the rest of the girls though.

This is a fun book but it definitely needs a sequel as one of the characters, Megan, got short-changed and we need to find out what happened to her.
