This review is from: Bill Carson - My Life and Times with Fender Musical Instruments (Paperback)
I worked for Bill Carson at Fender. If someone wants to know the real stories of the early Fender Years, this is one of a few books that tell the true stories.
J.Harvid Fouch retired from Fender on June 12.2009 after 44 years service.

A good read,
This review is from: Bill Carson - My Life and Times with Fender Musical Instruments (Paperback)
This is a very good book by a man who was a musician as well as an employee of Fender. Co-written with Willie T Mosley, the flow of the narrative is never disjointed or distracting. As with any "as told by" books, it focuses on Mr Carson's own experience, but since he was with Fender for so many years, his experience covered a lot of ground.
His portraits (both verbal and photographic) of the company, employees and events paint a picture of how a small entrepreneurial outfit grew from radio repair to manufacturing iconic electric instruments and amplifiers. If you are interested in Fender instruments, this is a good addition. I only regret that Leo Fender and Freddie Tavares never wrote such a book. |
