Bill Champlin has been a favorite of mine for over 30 years and, after being eclipsed by lesser light pop stars, finally seems to be gaining the recognition he's deserved for so long. Hype, flashy wardrobe and heavily-publicized bizarre behavior often deflects media attention away from the efforts of humble but more talented musical artists. Chicago pulled a real coup when they recruited him but, in my opinion, Bill shines best at the helm of his own musical endeavors, either as a solo artist or fronting the Sons of Champlin. This DVD features Bill in a performance environment he seems completely at home with. The sound is good and the sidemen are exceptional. I don't think many Bill Champlin fans would be disappointed owning this DVD.

This DVD was recorded in 1993 in Germany by the looks and must've been done fairly close to the 'Chicago live at the Greek Theatre' show because I think the great man is wearing the same clothes.Gee Bill Champlin's a great singer though and this DVD sounds great and just makes for great listening.I love the man's work with 'Chicago' and I love his solo work.Any Bill Champlin fan will consider this a good buy.Oh and highly recommended to the many who are still sadly uninitiated to the fine talent and great voice of Bill Champlin

Ive been a huge fan of Bill's work for many many years. Who couldnt be?
This particular fascinating concert from Germany features many great
musicians: Garth Webber on guitar, vocals..Bill Gibson drums and vocals,
Mario Cippolina bass..both from Huey Lewis Band...and Tony Lufron on keyboards and vocals.

This a really rare opportunity to hear one of the most Soulful and Funky
vocalists in America..Bill has such a magic about his style..Id given this show 10 stars..Also available is Secrets on dvd featuring Tal Morris, and the Sons..God Love Bill Champlin..!! One of the Best Singers, Songwriters, and Musicians on the planet Earth.

This concert DVD by Mr. Champlin was a blast. For one of the most underrated and talented musicians, he and his band put on a hell of a show. The song selection was also well planned. That's one thing that I've always liked about Bill: even if you don't know any of his songs, he makes you feel as if you've known them forever! Not many artists have that impact on me. I mean come on, this is also the guy that got Chicago back up on their feet when they were about to fall through the cracks. Pick this one up!

Bill Champlin made the Sons of Champlin back in the 60's, then he transformed Chicago even until today, and it was great to hear him back with the Sons. Outstanding musician and a great CD.

This is a very good show done in Germany, and "In the Heat of the Night" is great, but I wish Bill would have included more "Sons of Champlin" material. It was refreshing to finally hear one at the very end of the show, "Everywhere", but it would have been amazing to hear "Freedom", "Things are Getting Better", and one or two of the other superb songs off "Loosen Up Naturally".
In the meantime, there's that amazing DVD with Bill and the rest of Chicago, teaming up with Earth, Wind and Fire- that may sound strange, but trust me, it's superb!
But I could have sworn I once saw a clip of the Sons playing live somewhere, and if the overall sound is anything like their live CD (from the '90s?) then "that" would be the ultimate Bill Chaplin DVD!
