Gr 2-3--This upbeat but limited profile of our 42nd president begins with his childhood in Hope, Arkansas. Greene briefly describes the experiences that shaped Clinton's life and led him to a career in politics. She treads lightly when discussing his family and his alcoholic stepfather. Clinton's education, his marriage, and the ups and downs of his career are all touched upon. Hillary Clinton's importance as a partner in campaign work and in his administration is mentioned. While there is no discussion of specific controversies facing Clinton as he took office, the author explains that ``Being president isn't easy. You can't please all the voters. Some are always mad at you.'' This entry is similar in appearance to many titles in the series; however, sentence fragments abound and are distracting. Despite the easy-to-read text and numerous black-and-white and full-color photographs, readers will come away from this book knowing little about the man beyond the oft-repeated notion that he cares about people and their problems.
