Wickedly Funny and Sadly Accurate,

This review is from: Bill Clinton : Vast Bubba Cons (Audio CD)
This collection of satirical tunes holds nothing back. It is disrespectful, caustic, and crude-a perfectly fitting tribute to the Clinton Administration. Some may say that it goes to far, and I would have advocated such a point were the biting derision been hurled at any other president or, indeed, most other politicians, even those with whom I vehemently disagree. With Bill Clinton and his retinue, I do not find that criticism valid. First, Clinton himself has prostituted the office of the presidency, the federal government, and most of all himself far more than an army of humorists ever could. More importantly the debauchery he has inflicted upon so many American ideals makes him fair game for jokes far more outlandish than anything found on this CD. Office Vic and his Unindicted Coconspirators leave no scandal untouched from "Janet's Fire" which musically explores the femnazi attorney general's escapades to "Lust Cost me Zero," an ode to the president's lascivious pursuits. My personal favorite is "Blowin' in Again" a reworking of the classic "Blowin' in the Wind" that celebrates a gallimaufry of Clinton perfidies. Listeners should beware. Like most things Clinton, this CD is inappropriate for children. Some of the songs contain foul language, which was probably unavoidable considering the subject matter, and the sleazy nature of many Clinton scandals further restricts the content to mature audiences. My only complaint is that most of the songs parodied are not terribly catchy tunes. Except for "Blowin' in Again" I don't find myself singing any of them-which may very well be a blessing in disguise!

Over the past eight years Bill Clinton has been the subject of parodies in every form of audio media known, so what makes this album so different? Vast Bubbas Cons is more than musical parody it is political genius and thought provoking at the same time.Fifteen tracks including, Janet's Fire, Blowin' In Again, My Crimes are amazin', Mr. Damned Marine Man and others give a unique insight into true political satire and parody. The album features the ability to delve into the issue and give the listener political food for thought. The music is true to the parody from which is follows, the voice of Officer Vic, aka Tom Brenner is excellent and although he is not an exact copy of the Clinton voice, he makes a valiant effort. ... The album is written and produced by Richard Allen Vinson, who is able to capture the true color of Bill Clinton on this album and this album deserves major radio exposure. The cover is also unique and keeping with the Clinton parody theme. I look forward to the next release from Free Speech Records. |
