Unsung Vocalist,
By Karen Clancy (Florida) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Bill Henderson With the Oscar Peterson Trio (Audio CD)
Wow...I am thrilled to find this album. Mine was stolen with all my other cassettes about nine years ago. Bill Henderson has one of the smoothest styles I have ever come across. To pair up with the imcomparable Oscar Peterson lends the album a hipness that finds its way down to the cellular level. Simplicity, soul, fun, and enjoyment are in his voice in every song. You can almost hear his smile. I know them all by heart!

Bill Henderson? Who?... Wow! What a voice,

This review is from: Bill Henderson With the Oscar Peterson Trio (Audio CD)
I first heard this album while I was on the dance floor and the DJ was playing "You Are My Sunshine." Wow... I ran over to him afterwards, and the next day I was searching for this CD.Bill Henderson has a crisp voice, and the Oscar Peterson Trio complements it nicely. "A Lot Of Livin' To Do" is a fine example. From the serene ballads on this CD to the swinging tracks like, "I See Your Face Before Me" this is a great album for any occasion. If you haven't heard Bill Henderson's voice before, it's about time you have. Other top-notch albums with Henderson's vocals include his Complete Vee & Jay Recordings Volumes 1 and 2. Both are great.

Unknown Jazz Vocalist Amazing!,

This review is from: Bill Henderson With the Oscar Peterson Trio (Audio CD)
It is amazing that Bill Henderson never received the acclaim of the jazz world beyond insiders like Frank Sinatra and Charlie Haden who knew how good he is. Henderson is a wonderful interpreter of ballads and this recording with Oscar Peterson is filled with gems. Don't miss it if you love jazz vocals!
