A rare, hard to find book of the
work of this Australian photographer.
Edgy portraits., some crowd photos,
architecture.
But it is perhaps his dark images of
teenagers, caught in the twilight
zone of adolescence, that have caused
the most heated debate.
Kind of like David Hamilton, Ron Oliver
mixed up with David Lynch weirdness.
Regardless of the subject, Henson's work
is strangely melancholic, imbued with
a poetic lyricism and darkly glowing
palette. The location of his work seems
more European than Australian; their
gloomy light transports the viewer
to a nether world
