It is a remarkable accomplishment in film making!
Angela Bailey Mccord
It is his actual words and the vibes of the real Bill W - not someone else's interpretation of him - however good.
Joan
Beautiful story, well-composed documentary about the life of a man who founded Alcoholics Anonymous.

The best biographic on Bill and the early days of AA. The vintage film and actual audio made this production very real and captivating I have watched it 4 times so far and pick up something new ener time

I have used the movie the Bill W. in groups
however I found it to be lacking in depth and really just a movie rather than the actual story
i now show this documentary in groups and the clients love it
I think this dvd is truly the "Bill W" story
I would encourage anyone in the field of addiction or in recovery to purchase this
insightful, interesting, and worth every penny

Exceptionally well done documentary that incorporates significant and archived film and voice of Bill W. His unltimate life's work is likely one of the most significant contributions to the wellbeing of humankind. Wisdom abounds in this great capture of his work and the wonder of AA's success.

The 12 Steps has had a profound impact on my life. For that reason, I wanted to learn more about AA's origin and its founders. This comprehensive documentary details how AA came to be and its evolution to the present day. Rather than a dry narration, I was transported to an AA meeting where Bill W was the speaker giving his lead or as some say, telling his story. It was a captivating experience because this story was told on so many levels.

With a historical perspective, Bill talked about significant events in his life and how he navigated those hurdles drunk and sober. The documentary takes us from the very seed of an idea that brought AA to life and into its maturity. If you have been touched by the program in any way, this documentary will give you an understanding of why things work the way they do --- at least it did for me.

I choked back tears toward the end of the DVD realizing the sacrifice it took to bring AA to fruition. Bill's inspiration, his tenacity and sense of humor has touched so very many lives and mine is so much better for it.

Going into details that the books haven't gone to yet, a story to be told for the good of the future alcoholic.
