5.0 out of 5 stars utterly bodacious !, September 24, 2000
This is brilliant, and has inspired many imitations, but none come close to this unique, goofy comedy that reminds me more of the silent screen gems than of what has passed for funny in recent years.

The pairing of Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves was a stroke of genius...they work so well together, and are so convincing as naive airheads that some people, DUH ! actually believe this is what these marvelous actors are like in real life..NOT ! This is great acting, folks. Wonderfully written, the premise is hilarious and all the characters so perfectly cast. I love Al Leong as Genghis Khan. His antics in the mall never fail to make me roar with laughter..."we've got a live one !".

With every viewing, I see more details to amuse me...and it has an endearing, sweet spirit that warms my heart...and always remember: "Be excellent to each other !".

5.0 out of 5 stars Most Excellent!!!! - but probably only if you saw it when you were a kid, May 1, 2006
I lived on this movie when I was in grade school. It changed my life. Keanu Reeves was my first celebrity crush. My friends and I would watch it, laugh, and swoon over Keanu. We even "wrote" a script for the never made 3rd movie we entitled, "Bill and Ted's Triumphant Trip." I'm sure someone heard that somewhere, I don't think we were quite that creative. Anyway, we wanted to be the princesses that Bill and Ted save from being married off! I started wearing Converse.

That said, a few years ago, when I showed it to someone who didn't grow up watching it - they didn't see what the big deal was. They laughed at a few scenes, but nothing to write home about. Great movie if you've seen it before... Eh if you haven't. Oh, and skip the second one. Not worth your time, minus the scene with the game(s) against the Grim Reaper. The premise was a great, but failed/ruined concept. That Reaper scene is still worth a watch, TiVo it and fastforward to that part.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent!!, January 28, 2002

(REAL NAME)
Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter play two most excellent dudes from San Dimas who are in desperate need of passing history. Otherwise Ted(Keanu) is being sent to col. Oates military academy in Alaska by his dad. Bogus! With the help of Rufus (played by George Carlin), they have a most excellent adventure through time. Along the way, they pick up NApolean(short, dead dude),Billy the Kid, Socrates, Sigmund Freud, JOan of Arc, Ghengis Kahn, Beethoven, and Abraham Lincoln. Oh, and they also meet two beautiful babes from England. Bill and Ted must not be seperated because it's extremmely urgent that they get their band 'Wyld Stallyns' under way. *air guitar*
A must-see most excellent movie, dudes!
