Billboard Top Rock 'N' Roll Hits: 1967 gives us ten rock and roll hits from 1967. The sound quality is as fresh as it was the very first time I ever heard these songs and the artwork is excellent as well.

The Music Explosion does their psychedelic sounding rock tune called "Little Bit O' Soul." "Little Bit O' Soul" features great harmonizing, guitars, piano, drums, percussion and more. The melody sounds great and this is even a song you can dance to! The Turtles turn in a totally different type of performance with their classic hit entitled "Happy Together." "Happy Together" has a great melody with major and minor key changes that seem effortless as The Turtles perform this instant classic hit. I predict that you'll enjoy "Happy Together" very much.

The Association weaves their magic with their "Windy." This ode to a beautiful woman sounds great and they sing this with all their heart and soul. The flute plays a great part in the musical arrangement and the overall beat and feel of the song is that awesome middle 1960s type of rock song. I love those keyboards!

Aretha Franklin's "Respect" still sounds as fresh as ever; she belts this one out with so much energy you can't help but enjoy this tune. The percussion plays a big role in the arrangement and the backup ladies never miss a beat! "Respect" has a musical interlude that really jams well before Aretha and company go back at it again.

Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense and Peppermints" is another psychedelic rock song that sounds great whenever I hear it; the minor keys work so well on this number and Strawberry Alarm Clock sings this beautifully. They never sing a superfluous note, either!

Tommy James & The Shondells perform their awesome "I Think We're Alone Now" and I love that rhythm! The beat is marked by the percussion and the group harmonizes better than they ever did! The album also ends strong with the Spencer Davis Group doing their "Gimme Some Lovin'." Gimme Some Lovin'" is a song that celebrates love and the rhythm and melody are terrific bar none!

Overall, this excellent CD gives you some mighty awesome rock tunes from 1967. I highly recommend this CD for people who like this type of music.

I bid on this one and purchased it based on the song listing provided. Kind Of A Drag by The Buckinghams is NOT ON THIS CD no matter what the song listing says! Even the photo of the CD cover does not have it listed. Only is the actual song listing on the sight the one that lists this missing song. Bummer!
