My father-in-law asked me to transfer one of his homemade cassette mix tapes onto CD. Rather than trying to fix the quality of his scratchy old tape, I went to just make a copy from CD. Little did I know how hard it would be to find some of these songs in a digital format. This CD was a lifesaver because it had three of the songs I was looking for: Theme from Moulin Rouge, Anna (El N. Zumbon), and High Noon.

This is a fabulous addition to the collection of the fans of 1950's movies!

Of course what caught my eye was "Where Is Your Heart" a.k.a. "The Song from 'Moulin Rouge,'" even though this Percy Faith version has nothing to do with the Oscar nominated film from down under. I was rather surprised to see that I actually recognized most of the songs on this album. "Three Coins in the Fountain" and "Do Not Forsake Me" are easy, but the theme from "The High and the Mighty" separates the novice from the master. The high points are Doris Day doing "Secret Love" and the great William Warfield doing "Ol' Man River," the musical anthem from "Showboat." You can pretty much forget trying to find the soundtracks for almost every one of these films so this is your chance to find a lot of great movie hits on one album. I had not problem finding the minimum of five songs I would like to have in my ever growing CD collection that warrant making this album worth picking up. Believe me, it does not even matter that you have not seen even half of these movies. Sometimes you are better off just hearing the song rather than watching the film.
