So misunderstood! A little TLC is needed, but Billington's is well worth the time! It quite often arrives hard. The solution: Place the unwrapped sugar in an airtight canister, slightly moisten a clean, folded (larger than the container opening) paper towel, place over the canister opening, not touching the sugar, and secure the lid. Come back in 2 to 3 hours, and you have a soft, golden sugar. Remove the paper towel and store air tight. It never clumps, is always soft, and absolutely delicious!

I first bought this sugar at Whole Foods and other gourmet food shops, but it got difficult to find, and it was expensive. This is absolutely the best price I've found. Being half a Brit, I love it in my tea; although they seem to prefer it in their coffee. As for the clumping, any brown sugar will do that. All I do is take a bit of sandwich bread and put it in the jar with the sugar for a day... The moisture is absorbed back into the sugar. Problem solved.

This is a great product, crystals of natural sugar which work well for tea/coffee, baking (although they are larger than regular white granulated sugar, and sometimes need to be mixed a little longer) and on top of oatmeal. The price with the automatic delivery is fantastic, too.

Wonderful sugar with good flavor. I did have to soften the sugar with a wetted wash rag, but effects are not permanent. I live in the north and everything instead gets dry, even with a humidifier, and the sugar was not able to escape being effected and hards occasionally. When that happens it is time for another damp wash cloth.

I absolutely enjoy this in my tea. I can't even begin to pour white sugar in any more. Very good product.

Did not experience the clumps that other reviewers have described. Instead, the golden crystals flowed freely, and liquify in a small amount of warm water to make a deep amber syrup, which is what we put into our tea, lemonade, etc. Great also for cooking, and purchasing through Amazon is easy and reasonably priced when using the subscribe and save option.

My wife bought two of these.
They come in packs of ten.

She missed that.

So we have two boxes of ten.

For those folks that aren't aware, Brown Sugar Softener - Maple Leaf will make the sugar easier to use.

We love demerara sugar in tea, however, this left us terribly disappointed! The sugar arrived hard - had to run it through the blender just to loosen it enough to be useable (but then it's powdery and not good for baking with).
I'll never order this again - we went back to our favorite brand (Tate & Lyle) just wish that amazon carried it...

This is the best sugar out there...I carry a little baggie with some for coffee where ever I go...I have tried many different sugars and this one works in every thing...cooking...coffee...tea...really every thing...I wish it wasn't so hard to find...really glad Amazon.com has started carrying it.
