Had difficulty putting this one down!,

Great read!Picked this one up and immediately got drawn in by characters that I'd swear I'd met in real life. Mr. Attebery does a great job of setting this story up and keeps enough mystery (especially about the title) that you have to keep turning the pages. I found myself constantly guessing as to what was going to happen next. Intense scenes in the book are balanced with believable dialogue and humorous moments that you can identify with. There's plenty of action and the exploding monkeys do not disappoint. There are some graphic parts that are handled well, but aren't over the top. Without giving too much away, I found myself identifying with a character who absolutely hates his job and I think many people that read this should be able make that connection. I'd certainly recommend this book and hope to see more from Mr. Attebery soon!

I almost didn't pick this one up when it was offered on the free Top 100 list, as I was about to judge this book by its title (almost as bad as judging one by its cover). All I can say is I am glad I listened to my inner voice and read this one. Fast paced and fairly well written, the book takes you through a siege at a research lab in Seattle where Billionaire Jeff Pepper has decided to check up on one of the researchers to whom he has given a grant. Unfortunately, he is in the building when a group of terrorists take it over with the intent of stealing a new WMD which has been developed there (unbeknownst to Mr. Pepper). With its plausible story line, this entertaining thriller takes you on a ride which compels you to keep reading until the end. The book has its share of spelling and editing errors although they are not blatant enough to ruin the read. All in all, I give it four stars and suggest you give it a try if you want to read an interesting thriller with a lousy title.

A "Billionaire" visits a medical research facility for verification that his grant money is being spent properly. Shortly after his arrival, terrorists lock the facility down attempting to add a new bio-terrostic weapon to their arsonal. Hostages are taken...Bullets are flying..the biologic "bombs" are causing nasty work to living beings...and now I have to stop reading to go to work!!!!! What!!! I can't stop now! Some of the action was a bit over the top. Overall, I raced through the book..and that's what makes it good.

This book has all the elements of a great read - believable and entertaining characters, a quickly developing plot, and great narrative. I had hard time putting this book down - considering how much of this story unravels over the course of one action packed afternoon, its tough to find a good spot to stop reading! The main character, Brick, is a refreshing alternate take on the "macho" hero - I can't wait to see what happens in Seattle on Ice.

I picked this book up based on my friend's recommendation, and I'm glad I did. The author's writing style is clear and precise resulting in a nice fluid story. Devoid of filler, the storyline quickly picks up pace from the beginning to resolution. Character development is well achieved adding to a believeable story. If you are looking for something to read on a lazy day, or anytime, I'd recommend this book.

Entertaining Novel,
This review is from: Billionaires, Bullets, Exploding Monkeys (A Brick Ransom Adventure) (Kindle Edition)
I was fortunate enough to happen upon this in searching for new material to read. This is a book that has all of the makings of a great story! The Author develops the characters seperately and weaves them together in a "twist of fate" kind of way. Nick who is a college graduate who can't find a job in the profession he wants; Raj the arrogant co-worker who thinks he is above everyone; Jeff Pepper who is a billionaire checking in on one of the many projects he has dumped money into; all have ties to the University of Washington in Seattle. Their fates are forever intertwined as they have to deal with the likes of "Tim" and his evil cohorts. The University of Washington becomes a proving ground for some and the demise for others in this well thought out novel. This book will grab you and pull you into all of the action, comedy, and romance that we all crave as readers! Plus, how can you go wrong with that title! Hats off to the author. Finding a treasure like this is why we all escape to fantasy and get lost in the pages!

This book was okay. I was expecting better after reading the other reviews. The author did a great job developing all of the characters with the exception of law enforcement. Brick Ransom's character (yeah... that's his name)was a two dimensional non-presense. The author spent too much time telling the reader about him as opposed to revealing the character to us through his actions and interaction. The whole book was far-fetched and read as if it were intended as a half hour episode of some corny action / comedy on network televison. The author seemed strained to write the interactions between law enforcement and seemed to revert back to the type of dialouge and interaction he'd seen played out in bad action films. Overall I give this book a C-.

I also had a hard time putting this book down. If you have ever had a job that you couldn't stand going to - this is a must read. Mike Attebery takes the reader on a journey of what started off as a normal day to utter chaos breaking loose throughout the campus. There are also funny moments from the minds of the characters. The characters in the book are very interesting and some may resemble your co-workers. I enjoyed "Billionaires, Bullets, Exploding Monkeys" and will be looking forward to reading more novels by Mike Attebery.

I read slooooow, but I managed to get through this book on one night. It was a fun read--a definite summer novel, or one to pick up when you're in the mood for something lighter. Living in Seattle--and working at the UW, even!--I especially appreciated the local flavor. (I swear Attebery must have worked in the same department I did in a previous job of mine--he captured the arrogant, selfish professor personality perfectly.) Hope the author continues with more Seattle-based books in the future.Saw this book compared to "Die Hard" on a local site and think that's a pretty appropriate comparison. And like Die Hard, this book isn't terribly deep--but then I see nothing wrong with carving out a place on my bookshelf for reads that are simply and perfectly entertaining. In that regard this book gets 5 stars from me.

I picked up the kindle version for some light reading and almost immediately got drawn into the story. With some great twists and turns the adventure never seems to stop. Very entertaining read. I'm looking forward to reading more of his books.
