This workout is definitely one of my favourites. You have so much fun doing this workout, the music is fantastic and Billy and the team are also having a good time on this dvd. With regular use, you will definitely see results. This dvd reminds me of the Taebo Live series but a remixed version. There are no bands and no amplifier bar to use for all you taebo fans who are not interested in the taebo equipment and like doing taebo old school like myself. HAVE FUN!!!

I am an avid Billy Blanks follower and have pretty much all of this DVDS, this product was another excellent DVD hard core workout which makes you sweat. I ordered in June and it came in July in great condition. I would recommend this to others. There are plenty of kicks and some great new cardio-vascular exercises which are a little different to any of others DVDS. A great quick work out 44 minutes when you are a bit short on time.
Excellent DVD would recommend to anybody who enjoys working out to Billy Blanks.

This is yet another excellent workout DVD. Again, Billy is extremely motivation and just an amazing instructor. Easy to follow but at times it is hard to keep up the pace, especially when he kicks it up a notch. If you want a good workout I would highly recommend this DVD. It you are not used to high energy workouts I would get some a little easier and build yourself up to this one.

Tae-Bo Celebrity Fit,

I was very disappointed with this video. I have several Billy Blanks' Tae Bo videos, and know the exercises. However, this one has hip-hop style music and Billy tries to sing (or rap) along with the music, which I find very annoying. He also added a few dance type moves. Maybe he's trying to appeal to a younger, more hip audience. It just doesn't work. I even tried watching it with the volume turned off, but I can't even stand it that way. I think Billy should have stuck with the original style of work-out videos, where he talks us through the exercises, rather than trying to sing and dance. The "Boot Camp" series of workouts are better.

"Billy Blanks' Tae Bo - Get Celebrity Fit - Sculpt" starts out fast without the usual stretching. The music moves quickly and Billy leads an exuberant group of familiar faces through the Tae Bo routines that have made him famous. Some of the combination exercises do not go smoothly the first time out, but all in all, this 45 minute presentation reminds me of the excellent Tae Bo Live series (each segment was around 60 minutes so this Celebrity DVD is a little shorter in length but contains about as much cardio because the warm-up and cool-down are abbreviated) of about 10 years ago minus the popular music accompaniment.
Personally, I miss hearing songs with which I can sing along--Billy needs to choose some better music--what he has selected just pretty much provides a beat; I'd like to get into the songs a little more. Overall I think it would enhance the whole experience. Billy motivates wonderfully as usual--he does a little singing and dancing, but not too much to break the momentum as in the Tae Bo Ultimate offering. The DVD contains some additional material that teaches the fundamentals and a segment where Billy tells his success story. This latter is very motivational. I could not help but smile as Billy explained his dreams and the way in which he accomplished them. His honesty and sincerity depict a guy who legitimately loves what he does and gets excited when his techniques help others achieve their mission. Bottom Line? This is a good workout to get the blood pumping in the AM. Its a little short, but it forgoes the longer warm-up and cool-down so most of the time is cardio-based. For those who have enjoyed Tae Bo as I have throughout the years, this presentation delivers a quicker pace than some of Blanks' other series, like the 2004 Capture the Power grouping that seemed slow. Some better music, please! Diana Faillace Von Behren "reneofc"

It may take awhile to get into the flow of this workout, but once you do it's a great program. Cardio, and strength building. A plus is the short amount of time it takes to "feel the burn". A very good bargain when compared to other DVDs.

More Cardio than Sculpt,

I have 10+ Billy Blanks DVDs and many of them kick my bum. I found Celebrity Sculpt to move to be more cardio based than sculpting based. In the last 10 minutes it picked up with some fantastic sculpting/resistance moves but it made me feel like the first 35 minutes were wasted. Billy moves rather quickly from one move to the next and doesn't spend enough time to really get your muscles tired in that move. Personally I found myself spending more time trying to keep up and learn the routine than really focusing and burning muscles. I prefer the bootcamp DVDs to this.

I used to have the original Tae Bo tapes back in the '90s, and I couldn't remember why I stopped using them; now I no longer have a VHS player, but I ditched Tae Bo long before that happened.
After watching this DVD, I remember: Billy Blanks is probably one of the worst professional fitness instructors ever. He might be a good motivational speaker, but he doesn't know how to teach. First of all, even after all these years, he has never gotten down the most important part of leading a class: he should be the mirror for the student. When he says "right jab," he should be doing a left jab so that we can follow along in mirror image, but Billy just does a right jab. It's highly confusing to use the same side he's using, which means we have to translate it in our heads: "Oh, he said 'right leg forward,' so I need to put my left leg forward instead." Secondly, he doesn't often tell what moves he's doing. There's a section to "learn the moves," but for the most part he's just throwing around kicks and punches and expecting us to visually follow along, rather than telling us that the combination is going to be a jab, then a cross-jab, then a right knee, then a left roundhouse. It wouldn't be so bad except that he does the combination slowly once, then while you're trying to get it on the second time through, he suddenly stops the moves and goes back to "motivate" his back-up exercisers. Now you have to switch your attention to them, and try to continue following along (good luck!) It's not simple jab-cross-knee-roundhouse stuff either. It's stuff like jab-cross-jab-cross-knee-knee-turn-kick-jab-cross-jab-cross-kick-kick-hook-hook. Trying to figure out where one sequence ends and another begins is a challenge in itself. Third, his entire instruction consists of "Work it! Work it!" over and over again, and then "Ready?" before he's about to do something else (you have to guess what it might be). The people working out along with him keep yelling "Yes, sir!" while his daughter counts from 1 to 8 repeatedly -- yes, for the entire workout, without taking a breath -- and yells "Awesome!" after each set. The audio is highly repetitive (annoyingly so) while the visuals aren't repetitive enough. I bought this DVD so that I could get a similar experience at home to the Les Mills BodyCombat classes I take at the gym; they're only once a week, and they don't sell DVDs for home use. But Tae Bo just doesn't hold a candle to BodyCombat, which uses easy-to-follow yet challenging combinations set to hit music, and leaves me sweating and feeling powerful after each and every song. That said, I do know all the moves individually, so if I can either follow along with Billy's confusing combinations and lack of instruction without getting frustrated, or improvise and add my own moves instead, it might actually be a good workout.

Most Fun & Upbeat Taebo workout!,
This review is from: Billy Blanks' Tae-Bo - Get Celebrity Fit - Sculpt (DVD)
This dvd is the most fun and energetic one that I have of the Taebo collection. I love the music Billy uses and the energy of the group...they are really into the coordination moves too! You don't feel like you're really workout out laboriously in this one; and that helps you stay with it longer. Billy does some weird stuff that will really make you laugh. Shelly too! The workout moves are awesome. He had alot of new things added to the usual routines that I liked from this one. I wish he would market more workout dvds like it. His energy and encouragment really helps you stay in the workout! I don't see what it has to do with celebrities though!:o)
