As a tour guide, Billy is awesome. He shows you the best of his much loved country. He is hysterical, but also shows a more personal side of himself through the tour. Beautiful footage of the country, I really enjoyed this and ended up going to Scotland to see some of the beauty myself....If your interested in Scotland or Billy this is a must see.

Please be aware that this DVD is Region 2 encoded and will not play on most US DVD players which are Region 1. You can buy player which will ignore the region code on Amazon - just search for "multi region dvd player".

But it is an extermely funny DVD and well worth getting a multi-region player if you are a Billy Connlly fan!

Breathtaking scenery coupled with witty commentary and fond memories of his youth by Billy Connolly make this set a marvelous treasure. There's a good deal of historical insight from the Big Yun, as well as live performance in various stage locales about Scotland. The Scots love Billy & they love joking around with him, too. He's quite at home with his very embraceable inner child. Laced throughout the shows are recordings of Billy singing & playing banjo. Now, don't pull a face - he's really very good, though he's too funny to spend his whole life singing!

WARNING to Americans - you will need an all region player to view this set (it's Region 2, which won't play in unmodified American DVD players) & it's in PAL (European) format, as well, so you'll need a monitor that can accept the different frequency. I know our Phillips 22" monitor had no trouble with PAL, but our Samsung DLP requires a converter box. One hopes that with the Obamas' embarrassment over DVD format issues in their gift to the British PM, we may one day live in a region free world, but don't hold your breath!

I own a set concluding all the disks mentioned separately of Billy Connolly's World Tour:(Billy Connolly: Live in New York, Scotland and England, Australia and NZ).

His perfect classic English pronunciation needs no subtitles also this DVD function is possible, jocks are funny as humour is understandable, and shows equipped with nice sightseeing of countries he was performing in.

This DVD is playable only on PAL systems, not the North American format. Caiman won't give me a refund!
