Billy Hits The Road In Pursuit Of Bigger And Badder Beasties For Season Four

Remember when Billy Bretherton and the rest of his Louisana clan were actually real exterminators? I don't mean that as an insult, but "Billy the Exterminator" began its run as a fairly traditional workplace reality show. The A&E series featured his company Vexcon ridding the south of an assortment of expected (and not so expected) pests, all while highlighting the eccentric family dynamic that popularizes the many shows of this type. But really, after all the bees, snakes, possums, spiders, and other creepy crawlies--someone must have decided things were getting a bit stale. And so while keeping the colorful cast of characters intact, Season Four of the popular show shifted focus. All reality shows cross the line between actual events and those that make for good TV, so to keep things lively--Billy took the show on the road. The focus of Season Four is on bigger and more unusual challenges and much less on running a successful business. It's as if TV has taken over as the primary enterprise.
While the workplace drama feels a lot less organic than it once did, that's no reason to abandon Billy. After all, the show's success squarely rests on its cast. So if the Bretherton family has amused and entertained you in the past, there's no reason to think they won't continue to do so. With sass and attitude to spare, we see dangerous new assignments in Arizona, Texas, Florida, North Carolina among other places. This change in locale makes "Billy the Exterminator" seem more like an adventure series this season than anything resembling real life. It's still fun, if a bit different.
The two disc DVD set compiles the twelve episodes from Season Four together. The episodes included are:
(1) When Gators Attack, (2) Desert Destroyers, (3) What Lurks Beneath, (4) Furry Infestation, (5) Aerial Attack, (6) Bobcat Battle, (7) Suck It Up, (8) Dirty Rat, (9) Good Morning Gators, (10) Skunks On A Plane, (11) Hoarder House Rats, and (12) Gators in Waiting.
The set also includes some unaired bonus footage and the special "Best of Billy" which are both fun for fans. If you like Billy, nothing I say makes a bit of a difference. So check it out. Not necessarily my favorite season, but the Brethertons never fail to entertain (sometimes for the right reasons, sometimes for the wrong ones). KGHarris, 4/12.

We love the Billy the Exterminator DVD's. My grandchildren will sit and watch all day long. They love Billy!! We haven't missed buying any of the seasons for each grandson.

Running out of ideas.
Its still good but it needs new and fresh ideas. It also needs some better non rehearsed dialogue especially his brother Rick's role.
