Great sound from two talented and interesting individuals. I'm happy to have been pointed their way by the JRE podcast

After the up-tempo mood of "First Rodeo", you may be surprised at first listen by the slower, lower tempo and atmosphere that surrounds Billy Jack. Listen carefully, though - the lyrics are just as interesting and the arrangements are more intricate and impressive than their past work. First Rodeo is still in my regular playlist LONG after its release, and I'm constantly asked about it when someone hears it for the first time.

Billy Jack is at that same stellar level of quality, but is subversive, rather than overt. Bravo!

This is a REALLY good album. "Glad I've Done What I Did" is the best song I've heard in a long time. Lots of other really strong songs throughout. Great vocals, great music, great lyrics ... the singer reminds me of Maria McKee/Lone Justice in spots.

Thanks again to Amazon for the suggestion. VERY NICE. Big five stars.

I actually pre-ordered this album after loving the duo's first album. As other reviewers have indicated it is hard to pick the best song on the album because they are all fantastic (it really just depends on your mood). I received the album as a digital download, a cd, and on vinyl. For those of you with a record player, I highly suggest the vinyl as this type of music lends itself well to the format. I would also recommend that anyone who likes them go see them live. I personally loved the band's recordings, but Suzanne and Ben are absolutely fantastic live (the recordings really don't do Suzanne's voice justice as it is even more amazing than the record makes it sound). An excellent album from an up and coming group.

I came to hear HoneyHoney for the first time through "Little Toy Gun." While it made me a fan, I still wasn't totally sure what to make of them. I figured it out Thursday (3/15/12).

After seeing the webcast of their performance from Austin TX Thursday, and hearing this album start to finish, there's only one thing left to say. Quite simply they are the hottest, most under rated and unheard duo in America today. Amazon refers to "Billy Jack" as coming in to their own and I totally second that.

"Little Toy Gun" was fun; every song on Billy Jack is amazing. Well crafted and engineered, it shows how much these two have grown as musicians. Invoking memories of Lone Justice, Bonnie Raitt's bluesy style, and even the edgy country of Waylon Jennings, there is something here for everybody. After seeing the live show, I can tell you true that no female performing today can saw a fiddle in half the way this young woman can.

I'd love to pick a favorite song, but I can't. Well, ok, "Thin Line" has got to be near the top. Yet then I think of the surprising, and hauntingly fun "Angel of Death," "Glad I Did What I've Done," "Don't Know How," "Turn That Finger Round," and "Let's Get Wrecked," and once again I'm unsure.

Keeping it simple: buy it, you won't be disappointed. As for myself, off to listen again and wait patiently for the next album.

I bought this CD based only on the strength of the track "Don't Know How", which I heard on a college radio station. The rest of the CD is just as amazing. If you like music like The Civil Wars then do yourself a favor and give HoneyHoney a try. Their music is so soulful, you won't be disappointed.

I first saw this band on the Joe Rogan Podcast. They're super cool people that make really good music. The guitarist is great and the singer's voice is beautiful. Amazing band. Highly recommended.

Just a nice 11 songs to kick back to and enjoy. Angel of Death and Ohio are pretty epic songs, a must-buy for $3.99!
