This is Billy Joel's ABSOLUTE BEST concert recording! It is an import from Argentina. It WILL play on USA DVD players. The picture quality is NOT GREAT. It was clearly made from an old tape and while "acceptable" the quality is just "fair". It has the standard "track selection" ability as all DVDs.

This concert shows Billy at his peak, in my opnion. Great songs and a brilliant perfomance! My dad had this on laserdisc and, every now and then, the whole family would sit down, pop some popcorn, crank up the volume and watch this together. It was the only music that the whole family could agree on! It's one of best memories of my youth. I sure wish I could relive the experience now on DVD!

This is the concert of Billy Joel to own!! Alot of energy and the band is top notch.You can't go wrong with this and I can't understand why this isn't on dvd yet!! What's the deal? Very well made.GET THIS NOW!!!

I own the original Sony beta hifi video of this concert and it truly is the best recorded show of its kind, period! The audio is great, the video is as good as beta could be (which was better than VHS). So with DVD being out forever, it would seem that the issuing studio would release this amazing concert on DVD for all of us fans. Not so. Originally released by Fox Home Video, no one seems to be taking responsibility for putting the DVD version out. I personally contacted the director and the producer of this video and each of them told me the people to talk to were Fox. I did try to contact Fox Home Video but no one returned my calls. I did buy the DVD on this page and it's a piece of junk. The picture quality is whack and it's off aspect--4:3 spread to 16:9. The audio is about the same as my beta hifi version. I'm surprised Fox haven't taken notice and jumped on the opportunity to release this jewel in an improved form. Surely, the master tapes are in their vault.

PLEASE RELEASE THIS ON DVD!!!! I don't even own a VHS player any longer.

My first copy of this video was on the old, old format of CED (That's the pre-video disc stage) in the early 80's! This concert by a very young Bill Joel really shows his talent as a keyboard artist, composer, singer and showman. His "band" is really showcased in this video. It stands as a bona-fide classic in my opinion

This was originally taped for HBO (I think) and released to home video. You get to see Billy how he was years ago and shows off a great band in fine form. This one is so much better than the Yankee Stadium concert (and I know everyone agrees on this) that it puzzles me why it hasn't been released.

It covers "Turnstiles"-"Nylon Curtain", 17 songs in total, a lot of crowd pleasers like "Piano Man" and "Scenes from an Italian Restaurant", not too much in the way of ballads (Just The Way You Are and Souvenir are pretty much it).

I've been told that this was a culmination of 4 shows, and a lot more could've been added to it. "Goodnight Saigon" was released as a promo, but it seems like its source was from this concert but not released with the video. "Captain Jack", "Miami 2017", "Ballad of Billy The Kid", "Travellin' Prayer" and the other "Songs in the Attic" should also be put out on video, as a lot of those shows were also filmed.

Hopefully "Billy Joel Tonight" filmed in the mid-70s in 1976, Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, Old Grey Whistle Test, and Muzikladen will also be released capturing a truly young and angry Billy in peak form as well as a lot of rare songs from over the years will be out in a box set not unlike Springsteen's "Tracks". I've heard and seen the concerts and bootlegs from the 70s, and it's so unlike anything he's done even here. Even if it's not the best quality, a lot of it weighs in on what made him a vital force in music in the 70s and 80s.

The amount of material Billy has on DVD is more anemic than it deserves to be.

I was a nightclub owner who converted to full music video format in our 5 discos (which seated 1,000 to 3,000), back in 1981 and subsequently had MTV host their original launch parties in the various markets that we had nightclubs because of our dedication to the video format. As such, I was always looking for exceptional video content. When this came out on VHS, it was one of the best live performances of a "then contemporary" artist. The camera work, choice of songs, and Joel's impeccable and energized delivery were cream of the crop. We often played the cuts from this live performance to pack the dance floor, instead of the music videos that were released. Patrons constantly requested the "Live from Long Island" video footage and sound for the dance floor action. The quality was superb and we had no qualms about running the VHS sound instead of vinyl (yes that's right...no CD's back then and our DJs would never have been able to beat-mix CDs anyway). I still have this VHS in my library at home and certainly wish the label would release it on DVD, which I would buy in a heartbeat. In fact, of all the music video concert footage that was released in the early to mid 80's, we bought everything that came out. This one ranks number one without question.

When this concert was broadcast on HBO i taped the simulcast on my local radio station. I have since had someone transfer it to a CD, however, they need to digitally remaster it and release it on DVD AND on CD. Some of the best Billy Joel performing I've ever seen.
