Ok so just for the record I'm a 23 year-old who listens to everything from black metal to shoegaze to math-rock to idm, along with a healthy amount of mainstream pop-rock, and I think this song is some of the best music you're likely to hear in that last field.
I don't know how seriously the lyrics are meant to be taken, but they're just harmless dumb fun as far as I'm concerned, and musically it's a really well composed piece of pop-rock goodness. The attention to detail in the multiple layered guitar and vocal parts is masterful, and the verse/chorus dynamic has such a kick to it. It's just a really cool song.

I think this song is the best from Skye Sweetnam. The video is off the hook too. I got a chance to meet her when she came with Miss Britney Spears & Kelis. She was super nice and her album comes out August 10. If you liked this song you will like all the other ones.

skye sweetnam is an up and coming superstar, she has some serious star potential. i do not like skye sweetnam's genre, however, if you do this a great song. it is because this is not my kind of music i only gave her 4 stars.i have done my reaserch by listining the whatever avalible audio i have access to and by reading the lyrics to her debut album "noise from the basement"(due august 10), and i have come to the conclution that skye sweetnam is worth your money.

These is one of the best cds I have ever bought! This girl knows what she is talking about! I can pretty much agree with most of the lyrics. As for the reviews by the guy from Charlottesville, VA, USA and the guy from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, my personal opinion is that they need to get a grip, so ignore them. This cd is the best! The next cd she makes better have alot more tracks. Billy S. is my new favourite song! From one impressed music fan!

OK. I truely do agree that she does come off as an Avril Lavigne rip-off. But for the target media group then this makes sense. Think about it. You said it yourselves. I like "Billy S." I will admit, as well as her song "Tangled" they're cute for what they are. I am 19 years old. Sometimes it's fun to listen to this kind of music, it personally just makes me giddy, and reminds me of when I was a few years younger, and just starting to grow up. And I can say I am grown up, I have 2 jobs, and live on my own / support. But music like this should bring out the kid in you. And no music is trash. Everyone has their own opinions of what is "awesome" and what should have never left the garage. But HEY... they have a record contract.. none of us do.. so who's doing better here...??

I think Skye does a great job with both the tracks on this single. Billy S, is an energetic power pop punk song. When you listen to it, you feel uplifted and hyper. Wild World, even though it is a cover, it's a good cover! Skye did a grand job redoing this track, giving it this special hint of her own. It's slower then billy s, but just as good!

Who is new, fresh, cool, and funny? Skye Sweetnam.,

This new girl Skye Sweetnam (her song is in 'How to Deal')can rock out! Her lyrics (ie...I don't need to read Billy Shakespeare meet Juliet or Napolio...) are funny, fresh, untouched and just fun to listen to! This is her one and only song right now (I think) but I'm sure we'll see more from her! Get this...you won't regret it!

Skye Sweetnam is so cool and "Billy S." is awesome! Even though it's short, every second is worth it. Don't listen to those one-star people. They're just stupid not to like this. People have an opinion, and Skye's is a 15 year old one, not a college one!Keep on rockin, Skye!

Poor girl.,
By Lindsay (Branford, CT United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Billy S (Audio CD)
This song is quite possibly the worst song I've heard in the last 5 years. Now, I'll give Skye credit- she has a good voice. And after viewing the video, it's obvious she possesses a certain charisma; a definite star quality which makes me curious to hear what else she could come up with. I'm actually anxious to hear her surely "spunky" debut. But this song is vapid, boring, and completely predictable. A tale of G-rated "rebellion", the track describes the feeling of not wanting to go to school and "feel for once what it's like to rebel now". But in this day and age, the innocent, sugary lyrics sound tacky and contrived. It's by-the-numbers, focus group bad-assness, with a typical pop/rock beat that could have been produced by the Matrix. Don't waste your money on this short piece of musical trash.
