Book Description

Set in a distant binary star system, warring families struggle for supremacy. Against a backdrop of cataclysmic conditions, an alien race and a society forced to come to terms with the cyclical changes of their colony world, politics and intrigue thrive. From the author of Wyrmhole, Metal Sky, The Star Tablet and Wall of Mirrors, Caselberg gives us a new interpretation of a classic tale.

2.0 out of 5 stars slow and not very clever October 25, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
This book started out really interesting and somewhat novel, and proceeded to a large amount of filer, followed by a very uninspired ending. Only the first 20 percent was really worth reading. I think it could be made into a decent short story, but as a novel it fails.

4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyed the story October 5, 2011
By B. Hill
Format:Kindle Edition
For hard science fiction readers, know this book is more about the political than the science, but it is a very good story nonetheless. Caselberg does a good job of world building, and I would expect more stories in this universe in the future.

Side note, I found the ebook free on manybooks, and there are more informative reviews over there as well.

2.0 out of 5 stars Just... derivative. June 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I don't like writing bad reviews, but I did not enjoy this book. The political intrigue which makes up the core of this novel is lackluster and shallow and the plot borrows too heavily from King Lear and Dune to provide any suspense. I regretfully suggest skipping it.
