Book Description

September 2, 2004 Bing
Bing Bunny is a lovable, feisty pre-school character, created by Blue Peter award-winning illustrator, Ted Dewan. Bing takes on pre-school challenges such as getting dressed, eating breakfast and going to the park, in his own inimitable style. He is a totally modern pre-schooler and, in Ted Dewan's exciting new computer-generated artwork, has a freshness and friendliness that is both appealing and different from anything else on the market. Bing Swing is a celebration of the thrills (and spills) of the swing! Bing learns the hard lesson of taking turns with his friend, Flop, and also learns a lesson in physics - what goes up, must come down-Don't worry, Bing,It's no big thing-It's a Bing Thing!

About the Author

TED DEWAN been an illustrator and cartoonist since 1988, and his work regularly appears in the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Times, TES and Guardian. He won the coveted Mother Goose Award for his first children's picture book in 1992, Inside the Whale. Subsequent picture books include The Three Billy Goats Gruff and Top Secret. He has also illustrated children's and adult non-fiction. His first book for the Doubleday list was The Sorcerer's Apprentice, which was short-listed for the Kurt Maschler Award. He lives in Oxford with his wife, artist and Kate Greenaway Medal-winner, Helen Cooper, and their daughter. Award News: CRISPIN, THE PIG WHO HAD IT ALL has been shortlisted for The Kate Greenaway Medal - one of the most prestigious awards for children's illustration. The judging panel have this to say about the book: "The bold, exuberant illustrations catch the reader's eye first, and then closer examination shows just how every page is crammed with extraordinary detail. Dewan's clever use of layout, colour and perspective emphasise the different moods of the story creating a sense of space, action or surprise. This story contrasts the emptiness of materialism with the warmth of friendship as it follows Crispin's heartwarming journey to understanding."

All of the BIng books in the series are adorable!!! The art work is great and Bing bunny is too cute. I bought many different ones in the series and loved them all, as did my kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Books for Toddlers, September 21, 2009
This review is from: Bing (Hardcover)
After spending MONTHS trying to get my son interested in books, I finally stumbled on Ted Dewan's Bing Bunny series at our public library. They've been checked out repeatedly for 2 months now (by ME) because my son cannot get enough of BING BUNNY!

The books are written in language that toddlers "get". There's a familiar start to every story, a problem to solve, and vibrant pictures to tell the story. WELL WORTH the hunt to find Bing Bunny books for your favorite toddler!

Bing SWING speaks to most toddlers, who love to swing and don't really like to share or take turns.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bing story -- good luck finding it, November 6, 2007
By
This review is from: Bing: Swing (Hardcover)
Some of the Bing series are tough to get in the U.S. -- unfortunately this is one of them. Like the rest of the Bing stories, this is a simple, sweet tale of toddleresque behavior -- Bing has a hard time sharing, feels angry, gets hurt, is comforted by a kiss from a friend. My 2 1/2 year old loves these books and they seem to really resonate with him.
