We use this travel turtle on the airplane and in the car for my 1- and 2-year old children. It's intended for children a little older, and I can see why, as they are not able to easily balance the turtle on their laps. However, my 2-year-old can use it by herself, and it helped her to have a flat place to color and play with her magnetic board toys. I had to hold it in place for my 1-year-old, but when doing so, it also allowed him to color. I would recommend it, especially for children 3 and up.

This is ia nice product but my only complaint is that the pouch is hard to get your hands into to put things in or take them out. I just wish it was a little bigger or the zipper was made wider. Otherwise, it came in handy on a recent airplane ride because my daughter was in her car seat so this made an excellent lap desk for her to color and play on. You have to hold it in place though because she hasn't quite learned to balance things on her lap yet.

We purchased this lap desk for our daughter 4 years ago. She was very into arts and crafts and figured it would be good for a long road trip we were taking. The zippered compartment was just ideal for keeping her crayons, markers and pencils in order. The desk was both cute and functional.

Now, 4 years later, I can assure you it is VERY durable. My daughter has used this practically daily and I can not believe it is still in such great shape. I have since purchased several for gifts and I'm getting rave reviews from other Mom's as well. I can highly recommend this product!

OMG!! My daughter recieved this as a present when she was about 2 or so. I just ran into this listing on amazon and realize there's a zippered compartment?!! My nearly 7 year old daughter will be so happy when she gets home from school. I opened the zipper and my goodness there IS a coloring book in there! I dug a little deeper and found a crayola 16 pack of crayons!! All in pristine condition, not one broken crayon! She has used this desk a lot and it is still in great shape. The great thing is if your child spills the pillow part is removable, so you can throw it in the washer. I wish there was some accessory that could snap on to hold some crayons, but my daughter doesn't mind digging through her crayon bag. A++ product and usefull!

I purchased this for my 2 year old, who loves to draw and color. It is perfect for her. She loves it and it is easy to bring when we go out. The turtle also holds the coloring book and crayons which is an added bonus. Highly recommended.
