I got this toy for my 4 year old daughter. It is great it comes with twistable crayons (perfect for those of us that hate the million broken crayons in our childs crayon box), markers and three stamp markers. The stamps do not stamp perfectly but that hasn't stopped my daughter from putting a smiley face stamp on all her art work. The map pencils aren't her favorite to color with, but she loves to write in all different colors. It is great to take on the go and holds everything perfectly in place. I feel that it is an absolutely great buy.

I bought this art kit for an eight year old girl with five younger siblings. As the oldest, she rarely gets toys that aren't grabbed by "the babies," and her parents rightly buy things that aren't dangerous for any of their kids. But my little friend has a passion for drawing, and wanted art supplies that hadn't been mouthed or eaten by little ones. This kit fit the bill admirably, with extra points for being able to scoop up all her art supplies in a very short time. The eight year old then shuts the case (the latches are too difficult for her baby siblings to open, which is a real plus) and has her mother put the whole thing on top of the fridge. The case is compact, holds plenty, and is easily stowed away. When in use, the closed case can be turned to curve into a child's lap, making a perfect drawing board for sketches on the go. Your kid may not have as many challenges in keeping his/her things from being damaged, but it will keep the art supplies neat, together and safe, no matter what the circumstance. My little friend loves her "Blue Wave Drawing Board" and I'm thrilled that it works just as I hoped. The price here on Amazon was a treat as well!

I had purchased a Crayola The Wave in pink for my granddaughter's 5th birthday and it was a big hit. So much so that her 6 year old brother was absconding with it every chance he could. Their mother asked me to keep an eye out for another case and because I knew the store where I made the purchase only had pink, I logged on to my web site of choice for children's toys, Amazon, and found the same item in Blue - my lucky day! Both children love the assortment of markers, colored pencils, pens, and especially their own sharpener. Educational? Durability? Only time will tell. . .the contents in the case will eventually dry out, break, or be sharpened to a nub. The carrying case is an incentive to keep everything neat and in its place. Both grandchildren love to write, make "Thank you" and "I love you" cards so from a grandmother's view - this rates a 5 STAR PLUS.

Before I make any major toy purchase for the grandchildren, I always check the items and reviews on Amazon. I have eliminated some items because of reviews from mothers(and who else would have the best input???) and made choices based on reviews. Please don't ever eliminate this feature for toys. I have logged out of sites that only post the positive reviews for items. I want to read the negatives as well.......how else can we learn???

The wave is sooooooooooo cool. It's just nott educational. I gave it one star because it doesn't help you if you wanted your child to be an artist. If you wanted your child to be an artist, I would say get them a sketch pad and a 96 box of crayons and say draw,baby draw! ENJOY@
