I bought this box of crayolas for my five year-old sister-in-law on her birthday. Of all the toys and dolls she'd received, I've been told that this was her favorite gift! Along with this super box of colors, I bought her some art paper, watercolors, brushes -- the whole artist's toolkit, if you will. The expensive dolls and fancy toys are forgotten, but her mother tells me that the crayons are still out on the table every day. A great gift, not expensive, and hey, it's fun for us big kids, too!

When I ordered this, I thought it would be just one big box of crayons. At first I was slightly disappointed when I received a pencil box with two boxes of 48 count crayons and a 24 count box, plus 6 little colored pencils. I thought I could have just bought this in the store and not paid shipping! However, upon further examination--hands on, of course, coloring in a color book with my daughter!--I saw that all the boxes had different colors. There were so many different colors! I was more than pleased and even ordered another box!

Most of us grown-ups remember the thrill of getting a new box of crayons- all those beautiful sharp colors standing at attention. They even smelled good. The Giant Chest is even better, because Crayola now has more colors and gimic-crayons, while still carrying the old classics. I've bought bargain-price crayons before, but was very disappointed in the poor color quality. Not so with Crayola- the colors are bold and bright. Unfortuntely, most crayons will eventually break in over-eager hands- luckily, with this set you have duplicates of most colors. Try recycling the shavings by ironing them between sheets of waxed paper to make neat stained-glass effects (with adult supervision and permission, of course).

I'm a 28-year-old medical transcriptionist, but in my spare time I sometimes like to color in coloring books as a form of relaxation. I have tried other brands of crayons, but those brands have been subpar. Crayola has always been the best quality.

I haven't used crayons in at least 20 years, being an adult and supposedly past all that kid stuff. I don't know what made me do it, but on a whim I bought this box of 120 crayons, as well as a mandala coloring book, and I've been having a blast. Just reading the names of all those colors is fun, and the coloring itself is so relaxing after a long day at work. I put on some music, lay on the floor with all those crayons spread out around me, and I just lose myself in play for an hour. It's great.

The first thing I recommend to people when explaining how to build a web site is, "Get out your Crayolas." Of course they look at me and go, "Yeah, got 'em right here." But it is true. You have to sit down and put it on paper, and what better way than to do it in color.

120 colors? I say 120 sticks of fun! And a free sharpener, with a shavings holder even!! This rainy day toy is so much fun, you'll even find yourself using it on sunny days!!!

There's not much to say about the quality of Crayons, they seem to be the same as they were decades ago. My problem is that this item was supposed to have 120 different colors and that was not the case. Most of them are different, but out of the 5 small boxes that come in the 120-pack box, 2 of the small boxes were identical. Not a huge disappointment, but still not as advertised.

Who doesn't like crayons? And by far Crayola has the best crayons. So i just want to say, awesome crayons. However, I feel a little dupped upon opening the box as I found two 48 count and one 24 count and a crayon sharpener and I was like, if I wanted three boxes of crayons, I would have just bought them instead! However upon looking inside like another reviewer, I noticed they were different colors. I wish though it was in one box like the 96 count though. I am grateful as I colored with my two little sisters but if it was my own, I wouldn't be so happy.

When I was a kid, I used to hoard Crayolas in kindergarten - as soon as I got into the classroom, I'd start pocketing the slim treasures, so when "art-time" rolled around, I had all the good colors. (sigh)Now I buy Crayolas all the time, and doodle while I'm on the phone, riding the bus, waiting for an appointment... I carry a "classic" 8-pack in my purse and a 64-pack in my carry-on suitcase for lay-overs at the airport. How relaxing, how invigorating, how refreshing. Nearly as good as a Bliss Spa facial. |
