i have had my biocube for about a year and a half now and unfortunatly the lights stopped working. I thought it was the lights so i bought new ones. then i figured it was the ballast but i checked both and they work just fine. so i was about to give up on the system untill i contacted oceanic. I sent an email and they responded the next day. they said that as long as i bought it within the year they would be glad to replace it. I had bpughten it 13 months ago. But I told them my story and expressed that it has been difficult finding parts for the 8 gallon they completely made good and sent me out a complete hood!!! They are the best ever!!! i will only buy oceanic for now on. Not just for a great product but because of the excellent customer service!

This aquarium takes all the hassle out of Nano aquariums, whether freshwater or saltwater. Unlike other pre-assembled Nano aquariums, this one is easy to maintain & also very simple to replace parts on as they wear out, (e.g. the pump, the lights, etc.). It comes with CF Bulbs so you can grow good plants or corals with this setup. I especially like the easy access to control each bulb seperately, including the night bulb. The fan is extremely quiet & doesn't get on my nerves when I'm in the same room, which I can't say for any of my other preassembled nano aquariums. Evaporation is also slowed down due to the enclosed top, which is a big help when you live in the West. Overall, I am most pleased with this aquarium out of the 6 others I own. I recomend this aquarium for both salt & fresh water.

I bought this bio cube for my son and he loves it. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in purchasing one.

Just as another reviewer stated, the design of this aquarium is not safe for fish. The tank is so poorly designed that fish are able to end up "overboard" (literally over the side of the aquarium, into the filtration system). I have two clown fish and in the two years I've owned this aquarium, both clown fish have ended up in the filtration system more times than I can count. Thankfully, they've been fortunate enough to survive all of these experiences. After frustrating and pointless complaints to Oceanic, I decided to take matters into my own hands, and rigged up my own safety feature to ensure my fish actually stay in the aquarium. This involved cutting up a large plastic water bottle and creating a make-shift barrier. With this barrier, my fish are finally safe, however, the filtration system does not receive optimal water flow because of the new obstruction. I've been researching new aquariums and am finally making a leap to bluer seas (knock wood)! Please steer away from this faulty aquarium--for the sake of your fish.
