Editorial Reviews

They're weird, they're wild and they're going totally environmental! Two deadbeat dudes are about to trade beer and pizza for soymilk and tofu in this outrageously funny comedy from the producers of Dumb and Dumber. Before Earth Day 1996, the closest Bud (Pauly Shore) and Doyle (Stephen Baldwin) had ever come to a garbage dump was the floor of their apartment! So when their ecology-conscious girlfriends ask them to stop wasting time and start cleaning waste, the dimwitted duo makes it clear that they'd rather talk trash than pick it up. But their world suddenly changes when they're accidentally trapped inside Bio-Dome a year long scientific ecological experiment with no fast food or cable television! Will Bud and Doyle adapt to their new found habitat or will their very presence spell extinction for themselves, the project and perhaps the entire planet?!

I have to recommend this movie because not only is it silly and fun and escapist, it also has a HUGE rewatchable factor to it. You can watch this movie many times and it never gets boring. The plot is simple (you probably know about it), but it's just the interaction between all the characters that amuse you. Pauly Shore really is very funny in this, but it's also hard to imagine anyone but Stephen Baldwin playing the goofy sidekick. Nothing in this movie is too demanding, and it doesn't matter where in the movie you start watching - it's just breeezy and fun.

Sometimes, when you're in an overly silly mood, only one thing will do: Pauly Shore. That's why I love Bio-Dome. It's just silly all over. The concept is utterly ridiculous...2 stoner community college kids mistake an enclosed environment, the bio-dome, for a mall and get trapped inside for a year. If you enjoy Pauly Shore in all his silly glory, you'll have a lot of fun with Bio-Dome. Don't take it too seriously...just watch and laugh. For those who enjoyed Encino Man and Son-in-Law, Bio-Dome will do the trick. An amusing way to spend an hour and a half.

First I want to comment on the dude who said that this film makes Adam Sandler seem funny! O.k Adam Sandler is the 2nd most talented actor ever (next to Jim Carrey) He is a billionare and he is funnier than you'll ever be! He is a billionare right now but you're just an ordinary guy! I also want to comment what you said about Jack Black also! You call him mega untalented also! Jack Black is a very talented and very funny actor! He is anything but mega-untalented! You also hate this very funny film! Seriously man you need to get a sense of humor and appreciate great comedic talent. Also this film bio-dome is very funny! It is sorta like Dumb and Dumber but Dumb and Dumber is funnier. Paully Shore dissapointed me a little bit. This is probably the film that destroyed his carreer. The costars do really good also. This movie does not have much of a plot. So if you like a laid-back enjoyable funny comedy with rude humor than you'll like this movie! At some parts I thought were just plain stupid. And some parts I did'nt think that I was going to like this movie but I thought it was pretty good and very funny.

There were some stuff in Bio-Dome that I thought was very funny and the scene with the whole routine of Pauley Shore's and Stephen Baldwin's characters having flatulance and trying to guess what each other ate by the smell was mostly funny but got a little old after awhile, now don't get me wrong, I'm no prude and it takes a lot too offend me and I'm not against flatulant jokes in movies as I remember watching a movie I think it was called California Knights that has a very funny flatulant scene and I personally found it funnier, but different strokes for different folks I guess! By the way I do think Bio-Dome is like a thousand times better than Jury Duty which I didn't think was funny at all!

...I love a Pauly Shore movie. Cheesy, idiotic, and hopefully with more than a couple laughs and memorable lines. But most of this was just plain tedious. So much so that I got up and took a shower, and when I came back I felt like I had missed absolutely nothing. Well, I missed the end of the movie, but same difference, really. We all knew we were in for a treat when we saw the box had not one critic's praise quoted on it. And Ryan, what kind of mall is this?

Possibly the stupidest (not good stupid, but bad stupid) movie I have ever seen. I turned off the vcr in the middle of it -- it was so bad. The equivalent entertainment would be to go to the bathroom and fart my brains out... I think that would actually be funnier then that peace of garbage was. Total waste of money and time. WARNING: DO NOT BUY OR RENT THIS MOVIE! If you're looking for a dumb movie that will make you laugh, trust me, this is NOT it!!!

Completely dumb, it's like if they took the four jokes that were too bad for "Dumb and Dumber" and they put it in this stupid film. The acting is bad, the dialogs are not funny, THE MOVIE IS DUMB. But maybe I didn't get the point, maybe it's a brilliant psychological drama. If it is, please correct me...
