4.0 out of 5 stars Biohazard CV Extreme, April 19, 2001
By George Vidal (west covina, California United States) - See all my reviews
The Music is Haunting and spellbinding! I first played the game and the music already sets the mood to an evil era of darkness mixed with an Antique touch. The songs I especially liked was thos like Suspended Doll and Pandora's Box because of there unique touch of Old Fashion instraments with Modern to create a song that made me think of and Ancient monster in a modern age. The songs are riviting and intense with some calm songs in between. This soundtrack is different from the other Resident Evil soundtracks yet very similar. I recomend this soundtrack to those whos looking for music to pulsate your heart faster and faster. The moods change within every song so everything is unexpected.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Very Nice Soundtrack, April 26, 2009
I should probably mention that there are 3 versions of this soundtrack out. One has 43 tracks, another has 93 tracks (very expensive), and the one I am reviewing is the 69 track, Japanese OST. I'd recommend going for this version (69 tracks) since it will give you all the music in the game, without any missing tracks.

So, how is the music itself? It's very nice actually. In terms of compositions, each part of the song flows smoothly together. No areas of a song sound forced or desperate, making each piece sound very ambient and emotional. There is also a surprising amount of variety that the composers have given the listener. "A Moment of Relief" is a beautiful track that harkens a sense of relaxation, whereas, "The Beginning" and "Crash!" add pulsing adrenaline to the mix. Further tracks: "Prologue", "Palace of Insane" and "Murderous Eyes" succeed in heightening a sense of forboading. "Berceuse" and "The Suspended Doll" can be downright creepy at times, in the good way, with their fear inducing chords - and lyrics (the former). Of course, there's the other various classical compositions as well, which just add to all of this. Even on the songs where the main theme is present, it is switched up enough to keep it from blending into all of the other songs. One major bonus would be that you can enjoy the music separate from the game itself. The only thing I wish was that some of the tracks (Lacrymal) were longer in scope. They seem to end a little too soon. But, then again, I suppose it's better to have quality than quantity.

Recommended: Yes.
