Product Description

Bio-Kult is a unique probiotic with a high concentration of 14 strains of beneficial bacteria. Bio-Kult is the recommended probiotic for those following the Gut and Psychology Syndrome Diet and was formulated by a team of doctors including Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride. The human gut contains trillions of bacteria, comprising over 400 species. The majority are beneficial but some can adversely effect the body's own defenses. You are exposed every day to hostile bacteria through food and drink. To counterbalance these invaders, you need to ensure a healthy level of "beneficial" bacteria. The healthy level of good bacteria in the gut can be reduced by factors such as poor diet, antibiotics, foreign travel, stress, aging, and infection. A convenient way of maintaining the healthy balance in the gut is to use a probiotic. Probiotics were first scientifically identified as being helpful by Dr. Metchnikoff, a Nobel Prize winner working at the Pasteur Institute in Paris in 1907. Bio-Kult, an advanced broad spectrum probiotic, was developed by a team of doctors, nutritionists, and scientists. Bio-Kult contains 14 strains of beneficial bacteria including Bacillus subtilis, a catalase-positive bacterium commonly found in soil. This bacteria is able to tolerate extreme environmental conditions. Bio-Kult also contains L. Acidophilus, L. Casei, L. Delbruekii.bulgaricus, L. Delbruekii.lactis, L. Helveticus, L. Plantarum, L. Rhamnosus, L. Salivarius, B. Breve, B. Bifidum, B. Infantis, B. Longum, and S. Thermophilus in cellulose base. This product also contains silica and magnesium stearate in a vegetable capsule (200 mg capsule). There is a minimum of 10 billion grams of probiotic microorganisms per one gram. Each package contains 120 small capsules. Capsules may be pulled apart and the powder added to liquid or food if desired.

5.0 out of 5 stars What to look for in a probiotic. October 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
When choosing a probiotic you want to look for a high culture count per serving (15B or so / serving). Multiple strains, more is better, at least 10. Look for strains that start with the letters 'L & B'. You want a delayed release so the bacteria survives the acid in your stomach and reaches your digestive tract where it does the most good. And lastly look at the potency at the expiration date. Bio-cult meets or excedes all of the above. Works well for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like this, but you can pay less. July 2, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
Bio-Kult seems like good stuff. After I ordered this here on Amazon, I discovered that it is actually cheaper if you order it on the Gut And Psychology Syndrome (GAPS) diet website; $37-42/bottle (depending on how many you order). I paid $50 here at Amazon.

I've posted pictures of the box and container from all of the different angles so that you can see what the package and bottle say.

You're supposed to take 1-2 capsules, twice daily. So this bottle contains enough for 1-2 months, depending on how often you take it. The capsules seems small and skinny compared to average capsule size, so I don't have any problems taking them. They don't have a strong flavor.

I have noticed that Bio-Kult is affecting my digestive system. I think this is a good thing, and I am looking forward to see whether I experience some of the other benefits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Stuff! September 13, 2012
By Ally

I've been using bio kult for a while now, but I didn't see the amazing effects of it until I religiously took them daily. Before that, I only took them maybe once every two weeks.

I found out I was allergic to gluten and dairy and immediately took both out of my diet and have been on the GAPS diet for almost two months now. That, plus taking the probiotics has made me feel great and has helped make me so much more regular.

Just so you understand that it is definitely the probiotics doing the trick, when I don't take them, I get gastral problems again, even wth the diet. I take the maximum dose because I have severe gut disbiosis that has plagued me for the last ten years. So it is taking a more aggressive approach to restore my stomach back to balance.

I am currently being slowed down by antibiotics, but I find if I take these gems 3 hours after my antibiotic dose, I don't get diarehea from the antibiotics like I normally would, and my stomach feels much happier.

Over all, I think these probiotics are incredibly effective. I can feel them working in my digestive tract very soon after taking them. They have saved me from feeling as though I am chained to the toilet. When I take them ever day, I pass one solid bowel movement once every morning. Before that, I was passing 3-6 times a day diarrhea, so basically these have been a God send. I can go out and eat in confidence without having to worry about IBS.

1.0 out of 5 stars No allergy statement on the Amazon page. January 28, 2013
Amazon Verified Purchase
I just received BioKult and was hoping to include it as part of my Specific Carbohydrate Diet gut healing protocol, and I was a bit pissed to open the package and see the allergy statement that says it contains trace amounts of soy and dairy. This seems like crucial information to provide on the Amazon page. I have a mild soy allergy myself, not enough to put me in any danger by consuming this product, but enough to consider that this product might be detrimental to my healing. It would've been nice to know that ahead of time.

Great benefits for my son who had an overgrowth of yeast in his small intestine. We varied his diet and gave him one capsule every morning. It has worked wonders for his digestive system.

I definitely know it is helping me become more regular. I only take on at dinner time and by the 3rd day of doing this I am as normal digesting food as I can ever remember being.
