Piers Anthony is one of the few authors that does not limit himself to one genre. Bio of a Space Tyrant is not anything like his famus fantasy Xanth novel, yet it is still beyond comparison. Hope Hubris seeks revenge on those pirates that plagued him and his family in the last book. I got a copy from the library but I am now trying desperatly to find my own copy. A little known Piers Anthony novel. In this series Anthony strays from his usual fantasy comedy(Xanth series)and develops an epic adventure in which Hope Hubris, a Hispanic refugee, is forced to come to terms with adulthood before he is ready. It is the most interesting independent science fiction series I have ever read. Anthony's unique way of conquering a genre with a single novel struck hard in the BST series. From the first page it captivated me. BST may very well be my favorite set of books I own. Anthony is able to form a series that is limited only to the solar system not the galaxy. His villains are realistic and technology is not "out of this world", as it were. There is only one sad thing; it was not popular enough to be kept in print for future sci-fi lovers to enjoy. This story captivated me. I started reading it when I was in highschool and couldn't put it down. Between then and now, 10 years later, I've read the series over again a million times. Read the first couple of pages and if you don't want to read anymore, I'd be shocked.
